Jay-Z Partners With Pharrell Williams’ Billionaire Boys Club

Jay-Z is expanding his fashion empire with the purchase of Billionaire Boys Club, established by Pharrell Williams and Nigo in 2005.

According to GQ.com, Hov’s Rocawear shingle owns the licensing to manufacture and distribute BBC. Now that the companies are under the same roof, Jay and Pharrell will supposedly work “as a tandem – using Jay-Z’s business prowess and Pharrell’s creativity.”

Under the terms of the deal, BBC will not be distributed in department stores simply because it’s owned by Rocawear. The exact terms, though, are yet to be disclosed.

UPDATE: Jay-Z has clarified earlier reports that he purchased BBC, instead explaining that it’s a partnership between Rocawear and Billionaire Boys Club.

    1. and just like that BBC became uncool

oh wait it never was cool cause nerds like wiz khalifa-rose rock that shit

      1. Internet thug talking about being a nerd…

Not everyone is hard. Not everyone has to be hard. Grow up. Don’t like it? Don’t wear it.

      2. You so fcuking said it …big mistake pharrell…creatively ..it’s kind of like a dead end…for bbc …

      3. Dont think it matters, it still has the creative side of pharrell. The only thing is right now I don’t think that company is doing as well as it was when those shoes were selling and ice cream sweaters and jackets were selling. Think that shit is dying down.

    2. Hov and 4real are joining as a “tandem” to bring BBC under his Rocawear shingle.

Hov and 4real are joining as a “tandem”

      Hov and 4real are joining

      Hov and 4real

      4real

    3. SERIOUSLY BBC IS STILL BBC

theres still playcloths, blackdiamond, bape and all that hipster shit. fuck wear a white tee

      1. I never understood how bape got popular in the first place. Its designed by an asian dude, purchased by mainly black people and the name of the clothing is “Bathing Ape”. Kinda disrespectful in my opinion.

    4. I’m just imagining Pharrell and Jay in an episode of Shark Tank where Jay is like I give you such and such in royalties for the name BBC. I like this move because BBC is forever young brand. Jay and Pharrell are some of the coolest people on earth so it makes since that they make clothes.

    5. I like brands like BBC. It helps you spot the idiots in society soooooo much easier. Anybody that pays over 25 bucks for a t shirt is dumb as shit.

      1. Broke? No I think they are correct as they come. Not to knock your style or anything but didn’t you ever find it stupid that kids would work part-time at blockbuster, lived in low income housing. And instead of finding something smart to buy or save for, they have a closet full of barely touched Jordans. We’ve all done things things like that, This is the culture we live in. It’s a pride thing, but it’s definatley not smart.

      2. ^ PREACH lol
and i do think its a bad idea for the collaboration, sad to see BBC fail and not be wanted anymore

    6. thats great, maybe now they will put BBC in citirends, and stores for lower income consumer, and make bigger mens sizes like 4x,5x cause big people love BBC to,they just stopped making the sizes shirts i heard

      1. if they make the clothes cheaper that would ruin the whole point of BBC. it’s supposed to be exclusive. that’s how their marketing works.

    7. GOOD GOD!! BY THE TIME WATCH THE THRONE DROPS U WONT EVEN BE ABLE TO SURGICALLY REMOVE HHDX’S TOUNGE FROM JAY-Z’S NUTTS! ARE U KIDDING ME? ITS LIKE OBSESSION, A NEW HEADLINE EVERY TWO SECONDS ABOUT WHAT JAY DID, MIGHT DO, IS THINKING OF, HOW HE LIKES HIS COFFEE SUNDAY MORNINGS.. CANT UNDERSTAND IT, THEY MAKE OTIS OUT TO BE A WORK OF MYTHICAL GENIUS’ BUT ITS JUST A DOPE TRACK WITH WEAK LYRICS. THIS IS GARBAGE

      1. i thought otis was wack, i aint even really listen to it much to hear the lyrics but that beat is fucking garbage, a disgrace to otis redding

      2. Glad Im not the only one in this world that noticed that too….Ive tried listening to Otis over and over but I keep feeling like Stan in that south park episode where everything sounds like shit.

      3. LOL!!!

Man y’all cold blooded…yet truthfulness is just that sometimes.

Otis (the song) stinks. Otis Redding is rolling around in his grave (Inside the NBA on TNT version)

    8. Ahh… So perhaps this is who Jay told Angie Mar he was meeting with after he stop by Hot 97 earlier this week… This is no power move. Both brands are shells of what they use to be. Their target market is the majority of those feeling the slow progression of the “post recession”, so I’d imagine both lines have seen better days. If anything I think BBC benefits the most, of course this is all speculation because none of us know the terms of this “partnership”.

    9. Breaking News : Jay Z is about to scratch his
left nut but he is intensely negotiating between
the right hand and the left one…

      1. Your sleep as fuck if your calling ice cream and billionaire boys club bland. BBC and ice cream still and always will go hard for the exclusive people that wear it. Its not some clothes that every little poser can afford, nor do they sell their shit in retail stores. BBC all day!

    10. LMAO @ BBC is gonna be ruined by that gay Illuminati symbol crap. What a fucking shame man …

Pharrell dont let Jay put those symbols on your gear my nigga.

    11. a lot of people still rock Billionaire Boys Club, probably not the niggas that come on this site. Yall probably still wearing jerseys and Fubu lol.
