Tanya Morgan has announced the release of its new EP You & What Army?!, releasing in late September or early October. According to a blog post on member Von Pea’s site, the duo is looking to step up its sound and content on the project.
“There isn’t much to tell about it yet because its still being worked on but its along the lines of what we always do but with more maturity,” wrote VP. “The title means, in so many words, we’re not letting obstacles stop us from keeping it moving. LAWD KNOWS there’s always shit jumping in the way of creativity, success, and progress but It’s my belief that people choose to be defeated. I really hope you end up liking whatever the end result sounds like…no cockyness or cliche “ITS GONNA BE CRAZY!” shit here, I really hope it ends up being something yall keep on your mp3 player til you need a new one.”
Donwil and Von Pea last released official solo LPs, with the former dropping Don Cusack in High Fidelity and Von putting out Pea’s Gotta Have It. Tanya Morgan last released its group album Brooklynati in 2009.

UPDATE: Tanya Morgan has announced its plans to release the retail version of You & What Army? on July 17. The work features the nine original tracks heard on the free version from 2011, as well as three remixes. It will be released on KevinNottingham.com’s HipNOTT Records imprint. You & What Army? will be reportedly available for digital and physical purchase. Guests include Che Grand and Jermiside, along with a track produced by Exile.
