Snoop Dogg performed as a comic in the latest Comedy Central Roast, featuring celebrity entrepreneur Donald Trump. After performing, Snoop spoke withNew York Magazine about the experience.
When asked how he prepared for the Roast, Snoop noted that he just, “smoked a lot of weed and drank a little bit of this Hennessy…Me and Jeff Ross went in a little porta-potty; we went in there together. They looked at us like we was crazy when we stepped in there together. He stepped in first, and I stepped in, and I’m, like, ‘Here, hit this, close the door real quick.’ And then the smoke ran outside into the room.”
He also added that he smoked real weed during the show.
“You know that’s what I was smoking! Don’t act like that — you wanted to hit that shit. It was a cigar stuffed with some real shit in it. You hear me? You seen how thick that smoke was. That shit was thick. You see how Donald looked at me?”

In other news, The Blue Scholars have decided to put their future in the hands of the fans with their next album, hoping to raise $25,000 through Kickstarter.
“After weighing all options for the release of our third full-length studio album, Cinemetropolis, we’ve decided to forego all traditional channels and return to the independent approach that made Blue Scholars who we are. No record label. No marketing and distribution deal. No middlemen. No bullshit,” they said in a statement. “Instead, we’re going to sign a deal with the people. Specifically, you.”
“Our philosophy has always been to create our music and our media with creative freedom while still being able to sustain and grow ourselves. And at this point, we don’t believe that the tired music industrial model is necessary for people to pick up what we’re putting down.”
Those who donate will be reportedly be rewarded with a Twitter shout out, VIP tickets to a private release party and other incentives depending on the donation amount.

Their new disc will be titled Cinemetropolis and will be connected to cinema, as the title suggests.
“Cinema has always played a major influence in Blue Scholars music, and this collection of songs is the most complete expression of that source of inspiration,” they announced. “With your help, Cinemetropolis will be both an album and a collection of films inspired by the music. A sort of reverse movie soundtrack. With this project, each song, through collaborations with an array of filmmakers, will take on a life its own.”
With about 40 days to go, the page has already obtained close to $14,000 of their $25,000 target. The project will only be funded if all of the targeted $25,000 is raised. The promotional video for the campaign is below.
