From Kanye West’s Air Yeezy’s to ?uestlove’s Nike Dunks, many of Hip Hop’s top artists have jumped at the chance to leave their stamp on the fashion world. Now, skateboarding shoe company C1RCA has joined forces with legendary Hip Hop artist Afrika Bambaataa for a new line of sneakers and shirts.

Dubbed the Zulu Collection after the Bronx pioneer’s activist collective the Universal Zulu Nation, the collaboration is set for a spring 2011 release. The Zulu Collection will feature a series of custom t-shirts and two shoe styles – the 99 Vulc and the Convert. The 99 Vulc will feature a black and gold colorway, while the Convert will come in black, red and green colors, with the Universal Zulu Nation written on the back heel and sole of the shoe. 

Despite this recent collection, Afrika Bambaataa isn’t a stranger to with C1RCA. The renowned DJ and musical innovator also headlined a concert for the company a decade ago.
