Yelawolf Joins U.K. Leg Of Wu-Tang Clan’s Tour, RZA Reportedly Included

(UPDATE 04/14): The Wu-Tang Clan has added five U.K. dates to their current tour. The tour will begin with two shows at London’s HMV Forum in June and conclude with a headlining show at Manchester Academy in June. After a sabbatical from the domestic leg of the tour, which saw Raekwon release his Shaolin Vs. Wutang, Yelawolf and Young Dirty Bastard will join the Staten Island collective.

    Wu-Tang Clan Tour Dates:

    June 11, 12 – London HMV Forum
June 13 – Birmingham HMV Institute
June 14 – Edinburgh HMV Picture House
    June 15 – Manchester Academy

Theboombox.com reports that the Clan’s Abbot will miss the tour due to prior business engagements. “Well, I gotta be honest about the tour. I have too much business going this quarter, so I won’t be on the tour,” said RZA. “I’m going to try to join those guys during the springtime, though. Wu-Tang is coming to a lot of towns across the country and you know they’ll leave their mark. I won’t be there, unfortunately.”

Although the RZA was on deck for this year’s Rock the Bells festival, for which the Wu-Tang Clan was the penultimate act, this could point to tensions brewing between the Clan and RZA since 2007. At the time, Raekwon was vocally opposed to RZA’s musical direction on the group’s 8 Diagrams album, announcing that he would be doing a project titled Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang, which would not feature contributions from RZA. The album, which is still in the works, will be Raekwon’s next solo release.

In the meantime, RZA’s business ventures include two movies: martial arts film titled Wu-Tang Vs. The Golden Phoenix, as well as another film, Iron Fist.

The tour dates are as follows:

    12/4 – San Diego, CA at 4th & B
12/5 – Los Angeles, CA at Club Nokia
12/10 – Dallas, TX at Granada Theater
12/12 – Houston, TX at Numbers
12/16 – Atlanta, GA at Center Stage Theatre
12/20 – Buffalo, NY at Town Ballroom
12/21 – Boston, MA at Wilbur Theater
12/23 – Sayreville, NJ at Starland Ballroom
12/26 – New Haven, CT at Toad’s Place
12/27 – Clifton Park, NY at Northern Lights
12/28 – Providence, RI at Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel
12/29 – New York, NY at Best Buy Theatre
12/30 – Philadelphia, PA at Trocadero
12/31 – Millvale, PA at Mr. Smalls Theater

UPDATE #2: Supersonic PR, spokespersons for the RZA, contacted HipHopDX, stating that he will in fact be joining the Wu-Tang Clan’s UK Tour. RZA has yet to speak on the matter.

    1. Hip hop redactors see beefs everywhere. Damn this is fucking stupid. This 8 Diagrams thing was 3 fucking years ago.

    2. Now I can hear a clan member do a ODB AND a RZA verse…super.

      I Don’t see beef… BUT… you don’t see U-god pullin this shit….

    3. Everytime Wu somes out somebody’s missing, last time it was Meth and RZA…screw this tour, glad I saw them ALL (including ODB) before…

      1. Rock the Bells = all members.

European tour this summer = all members.

They are 9 guys, all of them have a family, or some sort of business. Of course it cannot clash everytime.

    4. DX, stop blowing shit outta proportion. WTC has been together for nearly 20 years. I think it suffices to say that these media outlets have failed in attempting to forecast WTC’s demise. These are grown men who each have their own lives to attend to. You don’t see every single one of your family members at a family reunion for different reasons. Anybody who doesn’t live under a rock knows RZA is a busy man. WTC will rock the joint regardless. Anybody who’s ever been to a WTC concert knows that. The Wu is here to stay. Get used to it.

    5. This is unfortunate. I have seen the Wu over 5 times live, never with the Rza AND Odb. Now in Philly Dec. 30th there will only be 7.

RiP OdB. Bob Digi will be missed on tour.

      SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

    6. this is a 1st that ive ever heard that he wasnt on a wu tour.after 20 years i guess you cant take off.hes dong movies that are paying alot more than a tour with a squad of mcs on stage to pay.hope this doesnt become a thing that happens alot though.

    7. That’s cool if Bobby Digital doesn’t show. Can I at least get an appearance from Cappadonna. Or maybe throw Redman on a couple of those dates. He is an honorary member, isn’t he.

    8. Yela is doodie smeared all over a white T. Really though not even Em branding this guy can help him. He is way out of his league when rhyming with SH.
