Bronx, New York native emcee Kool Keith has long lived a Rock star life in lyrics. From his “hundreds of cars,” groupies and penchant for fur coats and sunglasses, the Ultramagnetic MC’s co-founder has long pulled from the lifestyle of Rock & Roll legends. Now, the frequent live performer and touring emcee, Keith, wants to bring a Rock band to his shows.
“I want to take things to the next level. I’m trying to do Blueman Group plus Black Elvis plus [Dr.] Octagon plus Kool Keith. I want full band wearing orange suits with orange bald heads,” Kool Keith told HipHopDX.com this morning. The emcee referred to the touring creative band/dancers Blueman, as well as three of his own incarnations. Keith later said firmly, “I want Fred Durst,” referring to the former Limp Bizkit front-man who’s worked with Method Man, Redman and Xzibit previously.
Kool Keith has worked with other genres before, last year appearing alongside Tom Waits on N.A.S.A’s “Spacious Thoughts.” The emcee was also sampled for Electronic band Prodigy’s 1997 hit “Smack My Bitch Up.”
