DMX is back behind bars, as the troubled emcee has turned himself in to the Los Angeles Metropolitan Courthouse on Monday (July 26) afternoon.
The rapper has begun serving a 90-day sentence stemming from a 2002 reckless driving charge, reports MTV News.
Though his lawyer, Aja Southern, says that DMX’s other legal troubles postponed the L.A. sentence, TMZ reports that the Ruff Ryder violated the terms of his parole of his parole regarding the case.
Whether X truly violated the terms of his parole has yet to be confirmed; however, his lawyer offered an explanation for the rapper turning himself in. “Mr. Simmons is here today to fully cooperate with respect to any matters of the Court’s concern,” explained Southern in a written statement. “This is one of many steps towards rebuilding his image and rapport with the community and his loyal fans.”
