Ice T took to Twitter last night to express his displeasure with Iggy Azalea winning Top Rap Artist at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards.
The Australian emcee beat J. Cole, Drake, Nicki Minaj and Rae Sremmurd in the category.
“Iggy Azalea won Top Rap Artist….. I’m done,” he wrote via Twitter.
Ice then replied to one of his followers by saying, “You’re Right. She’s the Queen of Rap.”
Iggy won three Billboard awards last night, the others being Top Rap Artist and Top Rap Song.
“Sometimes in life you just gotta laugh at stuff… and keep it mooovin,” he continued.
He later added that he doesn’t hate her and doesn’t even know her. “It’s more about the state of Hip Hop culture right now,” he said.
Azalea has not responded to Ice T’s comments.

Smack/URL, KOTD, Rare Breed Entertainment (RBE), etc, are promoting some of the most talented, clever, and witty hip-hop artists I think I’ve ever seen. Check them out sometime. Special shout out to the Angry Fan Movement, JayBlac, and Chris Unbias for further bringing these artists to the limelight through blogging and interviews. When you get sick of cookie cutter product of mainstream, join us on the other side for something a little harder to digest, but will definitely keep you satisfied for a longer period of time.

Hip hop is not dead, it just does not exist in mainstream media. If you’re searching for it on BET and radio stations, you’re in the wrong place. It may not be as easy to find as it once was but there are plenty of artists and labels still making good music. Support them and they will continue. Support them long enough and the genre will strengthen. It’s not an ideal environment but it’s where we’re at.
