On “The Formula,” the trio go in over a beat that Marc Live also produced. As he delivers the last verse, Ice-T reminds fans why he’s the final level, coming with the lyricism in true OG form.
Black Elvis 2, the sequel to Kool Keith’s 1999 cult classic Black Elvis, arrives June 16 via Mello Music Group.

Black Elvis 2 is described as being “equal parts street and space.” The first offering from the project, the L’Orange-produced “Black Elvis 2” (Intro),” was released alongside the album announcement in April.
Ice-T is also gearing up to release a new album – and he hopes to dethrone Slick Rick as the “king of stories” with it.
“I got a rap project coming out and it’s called – first, I’ve never spoken on it yet – it’s called, The Legend of Ice-T ‘Crime Stories’ Vol 1 & 2,” the veteran rapper/actor revealed in an interview with AllHipHop in March.
“It’s a compilation of all my story rhymes from all eight albums and about six new songs that are all story-based. You know, they say Slick Rick is the king of stories. I’m coming for that throne. Wait till you hear this.”
He continued: “These are all my story records from ‘6 ’N the Mornin’’ to ‘Midnight’ and all these adventures put into one album. It’s a double vinyl release, it has two vinyls and it’s gonna be like a classic collector’s piece. The reason it’s titled The Legend of Ice-T is because a lot of things people believe about me are legend.”
Both Hip Hop legends have been getting their flowers as of late. In February, Ice-T was honored by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. The same month, Slick Rick was honored with a 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.
“To be receiving this honor is incredible,” The Ruler told HipHopDX of his award. “And to be in marvelous company with my fellow inductees is humbling. God is good. All the time!”
