Ice Cube Reveals Release Date & Cover Art For ‘Man Down’

Ice Cube has revealed the release date and cover art for his upcoming eleventh album Man Down.

Making the announcement on Instagram, the 55-year-old rapper and actor wrote: “The album my fans have been waiting on. MAN DOWN drops on 11/22, pre-save the album now.”

The cover art also depicts a Black teenager walking down some Los Angeles streets as they pass by various people face down on the ground.

According to an Apple Music tracklist, Man Down will be comprised on 19 songs and feature some big name collaborations.

As well as Killer Mike and and Busta Rhymes who featured on new single “Ego Maniacs”, Cube has recruited an assortment of West Coast legends for the project.

The likes of Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, Kurupt, B-Real, E-40 and Too $hort are all down for guest appearances across the album as is October London.

His first album in six years, Cube dropped by Bootleg Kev‘s podcast to promise fans they would be getting a classic dose of vintage West Coast rap.

He said: “Around the Laugh Now, Cry Later record, right before that record I was like, ‘When I pick up an Anita Baker record, I want it to sound like Anita Baker.’”

“I felt like Ice Cube fans are the same way. When they pick it up, they want it to be authentic, quintessential Ice Cube. That’s what I’ve been worrying about delivering… That’s what I been focused on — doing records that are totally me.”

Cube also recently discussed the career moment he was most proud of and fans will be surprised that it has nothing to do with music.

Speaking on Iman Amongst Men, he said: “I would say Friday because I was kinda out of my element as far as writing and producing. Doing a comedy, everybody was surprised at the time because there was nothing comedic in my music.

“We had funny little parts in our music, but everything was hardcore so everybody thought I was tripping a little bit, like, ‘Damn, Ice Cube’s coming with a comedy?’”

He added: “I learned from ‘It Was a Good Day.’ To me, it was the song version of Friday. It’s me coming out the box, because everything was hard and then here I go [and] flip it.”

    1. well it ain’t 1992 anymore one would think robert would have consistently remained being about the sound which won everyone over from the start it is a big call don’t let everyone down often times the fans get let down when you say west coast sound best album yet debut album……………

      1. What are you talking about? Oh I get it. Still trying to make it seem like it’s… I get it. Good luck with your framework

      1. Sure like a hologram is a genuine tribute. Taking verses willy nilly after folks die is vulturous especially considering Eazy didn’t write.

    2. Well now that you sold out to the guvt and the feds in nearly every public capacity possible, how could you expect a single person to take you seriously one time on any salient topic imaginable for that matter? That album cover is pathetic ripoff of Vince Staples’ Hell Can Wait which this lost has-been will never measure up to with any remotely worthy material after Lethal Injection.
