Hype Williams is hip hop’s most notorious video director, after getting his start by doing a video for the Wu-Tang Clan in 1994 (“Can It Be All So Simple”), Hype has gone to revolutionize hip hop videos. On May 28th Hype will release a compilation of his videos entitled “The Videos.” The DVD and VHS will be released by Palm Pictures and will chronicle ten of his most important videos.
Also included is Hype’s biographical and video graphical information, exclusive interviews, behind the scenes footage, commentary on each video, and trailers. Hype has won or been nominated for various awards from the likes of The Source, NAACP, MTV, and the Music Video Production Association. Here is a track listing of the videos that appear:
