green-label.com has compiled a list of the Top 3 ways in which social media and technology have changed Hip Hop and popular music.
“Technology has had a tremendous impact on music,” the site says. “We went from 8-track tapes to being able to purchase and download a digital album in just a matter of seconds. However, technology’s effect on music has been far greater than just a new method of delivery to your earbuds. The musical revolution is here, and we’re all in it.”
green-label.com says that cross-branding and distribution have had a major affect on Hip Hop.
“Cross-branding has been around for years,” the article says. “Just check Dr. Dre and Eminem’s ‘I Need A Doctor’ and you’re likely to see at least two brands you recognize. But this past summer, Jay Z took it to a whole new level, partnering with Samsung Electronics to provide 1 million free copies of his album through an app available exclusively on the Galaxy smartphone.
“Lauding the ingenuity of the massive digital distribution of Magna Carta Holy Grail,” the story continues, “the #NewRules hashtag was created to let fans on social media feel like they were part of something revolutionary, beyond simply being consumers.”

back in the day you used to have to be talented and special to make it but now anyone can download fl studio make a trap beat in 5 minutes and use a 10 dollar mic spit over the beat export it at 192 and put it on the net.
the quality in music in general has become so low.
EXACTLY. Niggas would have to be superb MCs to even get a chance to be in the studio and record a demo
people act like hiphop shouldnt grow musically…can you imagine 50 years from now hiphop STILL sounding like the mid 90s?? im pretty sure we would be out of samples by that point (LOL).
Alot of you guys trying to dictate what is and isnt hiphop honestly feel left out because listening to the older stuff brings yall back to a different, probably better time in your life, whereas the new music you cant relate to the same. Everything fades its just part of life and evolution.
Michael Jackson died looking like a white woman…now (regardless of the cause of his skin change)just because he didnt look the same when he died as he did when he made thriller doesnt mean he aint the same person
my point: hiphop is hiphop, it may look different, may sound different, but it is still hip hop.
til I saw the draft that said $4669, I did not believe that…my… brothers friend could trully bringing in money in their spare time from their computer.. there friend brother has done this for less than 7 months and just now paid the dept on their place and purchased themselves a Alfa Romeo. check this… http://www.Fb39.com
Why? Because he ain’t hip-hop. Niggas in the streets listen to real shit like Benzino, M.O.P., Kool G Rap etc. Street niggas are waiting on that new Benzino record, and don’t give a fuck about Eminem!
Internet made rap soft and wack
The thing I didn’t care for the #NewRule was that Lay-Z’s new album wasn’t that good. If you actually track his lyrical content & overall work progress through his music this new album was just not worth that million dollar deal he made. Glad for him going platinum with his Samsung deal but I don’t think it was worth the wait. Very disappointed in Lay-z. Nas is always better lyrically because he is still passionate about his lyrics & Jay-z just uses marketing to fool fans to think he’s giving them a good product but it’s a let down.
until I looked at the paycheck that said $5639, I did not believe that…my… mother in law woz realey erning money in there spare time from their computer.. there aunts neighbour has done this for only about 6 months and resently cleard the mortgage on there cottage and got a great Mercedes-Benz S-class.
