Hong Kong Gives Mariah The Boot

A Hong Kong event promoter called off a Mariah Carey concert
because of poor ticket sales and outlandish demands from the veteran
    singer.

“We have decided to cancel the event due to both e the poor
response of public ticket sales and also due to specific last-minute
demands which we find wholly unreasonable,”
    a promoter told the New
    York Daily News.

A music industry source told the New York Daily News that the demands made by the songstress were outrageous.

“She was making demands like Streisand,” said the source. “She
wanted special spring water, furniture, lightning and armed escorts.”

It was also reported that promoters reminded Carey that she
was in Hong Kong, not The U.S. however Carey’s manager denies the
allegations saying the pop star pulled out of the concert because the
promoter had failed to meet his financial obligations.

“In these cases, the artist arrives bin their tour bus, goes
to a backstage room, performs and then leaves,”
    said Benny Medina of
Handprint Entertainment. “This promoter is resorting to lies and
attacks on Mariah when it’s just a result of the fact he can’t pay his
    bills.”
