Hit Boy Reveals His Dad Big Hit Is Back In Jail But Vows To Keep His Career Alive

Hit Boy has revealed that his father Big Hit is already back in jail, just a year after he was released followingly a lengthy stint behind bars.

Big Hit, 52, has spent much of the last 30 years in prison for various crimes before he was freed in May 2023.

Now, Hit Boy has informed fans that his dad is back behind bars, but he did not reveal the reason behind his incarceration.

Writing on Instagram on Wednesday (October 23), the “Sicko Mode” hitmaker said: “People used to ask me what was i on dropping so much music and moving around with my pops so much, in the back of my mind the paranoia of him going back was always there and here we are.”

Hit-Boy also vowed to keep his father’s momentum alive, revealing he recorded a wealth of music while he was a free man and therefore has plenty of potential releases in the chamber.

“We don’t know what the future holds but Big Hit sends his love to all his supporters,” he added. “He recorded over 700 songs when he was out so we got more music otw.”

The producer also posted a video of Big Hit on a jail call thanking fans for their support and urging them to keep streaming and buying his music.

During his almost 18 months outside of jail, Big Hit worked prolifically with some of the biggest names in the business including his son, The Alchemist and The Game.

In December 2023, Big Hit and Hit-Boy made history by releasing the first rap album to have been produced entirely by that artist’s son, The Truth is in My Eyes.

The following year, he dropped a joint project with fellow California native The Game called Paisley Dreams and then Black & Whites, a full-length collaboration with Hit-Boy and The Alchemist.

He also appeared on projects from DJ Quik and JasonMartin, LaRussell and Jay Worthy.

In an interview with Men’s Health, Big Hit detailed his first day of freedom: “I got out of state prison on the morning of May 5th, 2023. I got right in the Uber to my son. It cost $700 and I was at my son’s studio in North Hollywood at 11 at night.

“The first thing I did was hug him and tell him how much I missed him. My memory of the first moment when I touched down at the studio was the expression on my son’s face being genuine love. It was heartwarming.”

The rapper was arrested again this past February while attending the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, spending three weeks behind bars for an unspecified offense.

“The last few weeks [have] been insane. I went from seeing my dad behind the 49ers end zone at the Super Bowl in Vegas [and] getting love from everybody to seeing him shackled from head to toe in a federal courtroom,” Hit-Boy wrote on Instagram at the time.

“It broke my heart again and made me feel like that 3-year-old fatherless child. I don’t wish the pain on nobody. Thank God Big Hit touched the streets again.”

    1. Smh… 🤦🏽‍♂️ Look how that man keeps breaking his son’s heart. Black men need to stop blaming The Illuminati, Small Hats and the government for our stereotypically stupid decisions. It’s 2024. Not 1984, 1964, or 1864. Time to man tf all the way up. Or stf all the way up. Full. Stop.

      1. Not funny.
Yeah, I would say he’s a fool with no excuses. His son is paid, and Big Hit was getting paid legally so there was no reason to keep moving in these streets. But another commented that he’s been behind bars longer than he’s been free. You can say all he knows is the streets and prison.

    3. Why is it so difficult for some to stay out of prison? I’ve never even come close. I grew up in a poor neighborhood. It’s all about choice. I chose not to put myself in a situation.
