“It would have to be between ‘Corsa‘ by me and Dom Kennedy and obviously King’s Disease III,” Hit-Boy said.

You can check out his answer below:

When dropping the “Corsa” visual in June of 2022, the Grammy Award-winning producer began making a case for Dom’s induction into the rapper of the year conversation.

“Dom Kennedy got verse of the year on Corsa. i put that on my cousin,” Hit-Boy wrote at the time.

In the new conversation, DX also asked who of all the artists he’s collaborated with had the best reaction to one of his beats.

“I mean it’s a video online of Nas reacting to this beat called ‘Speechless’ from the Magic album,” he said. “He went crazy so yeah, that was the moment.”

HitBoy’s outstanding 2022 resumé included two Nas albums, a Grammy nomination for his work on Beyonce’s Renaissance, curating the Madden 2023 music and more

He was also named HipHopDX Producer of the year for 2020 and he clearly hasn’t slowed his momentum since. In addition to his aforementioned 2022 work, he produced full-length projects for Pacman Da Gunman (Bulletproof Soul) and Dreezy (HITGIRL) and contributed to The Game’s Drillmatic – Heart vs. Mind.

Now one month into 2023, the super-producer is still going hard. In January, Hit-Boy linked up with Offset to release the Migos rapper’s first song since TakeOff’s death in November.

The lively club anthem, “2 Live,” finds Hit-Boy rapping about his fun experience at the club, while Offset spits about a late-night love interest that “gets crazy.”

Up next, Hit-Boy will be releasing a joint album with Musiq Soulchild. The project was first announced by the R&B legend in a recent interview on comedian Bill Bellamy’s Top Billin’ podcast, where he revealed the title — Victims & Villains — and hinted at a February release.

“The title is designed to address the topic of the challenges we all deal with in relationships, but I’m approaching it from a slightly different angle than I used to,” Musiq said. “It’s more abstract, at the same time direct.”

He added: “A lot of people don’t realize which one they are; they think they’re one when they’re the other.”

The Grammy-nominated crooner also revealed the album has only been months in the making and is in the “beginning stages of mixing,” while describing Hit-Boy as a “G.O.A.T. of our time.”
