    Monday 11/27: Nielsen Mobile, a division of Nielsen
    Entertainment, which is responsible for providing SoundScan has
    announced the launch of Nielsen RingScan, to monitor the ringtone
    market.

    Nielsen Mobile — a division of Nielsen Entertainment, who is
    responsible for providing the album sales tracking system called
    SoundScan — has announced the launch of Nielsen RingScan to monitor
    the rapidly expanding United States ringtone market.  

     

    RingScan will issue a weekly report of polyphonic, master, and voice
    ringtone sales, which will be used by Nielsen Mobile clients, including
    both entertainment companies & mobile providers, as an integral
    information and analysis tool of the mobile ringtone market.

    Tuesday 11/28: Chamillionaire is gearing up for a holiday release of a new mixtape,
    Mixtape Messiah 2. The mixtape will be released in preparation of his sophomore album,
    The Ultimate Victory, on Christmas Eve. It will be available to fans, free of charge, on his website

    www.chamillionaire.com.

    Wednesday 11/29: There is an opportunity to be feature on the Clipse’s next mixtape, We Got it For Cheap Vol. 3: The Spirit of Competition.
    Those interested can go to clipseonline.com/MicBattle, where they are
    asked to shoot a video of their best freestyle over a provided Clipse
    instrumental. The top four will be chosen to compete head-to-head, in
    various rounds, until a final winner is chosen. The last day for
    submissions is Dec. 12.

    Thursday 11/30: Reports came in today that David Banner was
    honored for his humanitarian efforts in Mississippi over the past
    couple of years. He was given a Visionary Award from the Black Caucus
    of State Legislators, during their 30th anniversary in Jackson, Mississippi. 

    Friday 12/1: Funeral services were held for Sean Bell, the
    young man slain by the police on his wedding day. Mos Def says he
    didn’t attend for a photo op, but to genuinely pay his respects.
    Other artists who have rallied around the family in support are Nas and
    Papoose.
