effort manages to sell 54k this week. Now, while they aren’t exactly hip hop, Linkin Park is worth mentioning because
in its first week on the charts, Minutes
to Midnight sold a staggering 624k. Remember when hip hop used to have
those types of sales?
Closing out the top 10 is Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, coming in at #9. The group’s album Strength & Loyalty sells 52k this
week (172k overall). Meanwhile, Akon drops
3 spots to #15, as Konvicted moves
32k units this week (2.3 million overall).
Duke Da God’s Dipset: More Than Music, Vol. 2 plummets
61 spots to #87 in its second week, bringing in only 8k (31k overall). On a lighter tip artists Mistah
F.A.B.’s Da Baydestrian, debuting
at #177, with 4k in its first week, great for any independent right now .
Things are looking better for Redman, as Red Gone Wild jumps
41 spots up to #155, with almost 5k on the week (99k overall). Finally, it
looks like Rick James is getting the
Tupac treatment, as Deeper Still debuts #185, with 4k on
the week.
