Young
Jeezy shows
that he won’t be leaving the charts so easily, as the rapper’s sophomore album Inspiration:
Thug Motivation 102 moves ahead 2 spots to #22, with 23k on the week. This
brings Jeezy’s total to 908k overall. Another rapper who broke the 900k
mark this week is Eminem, whose album Eminem Presents: The Re-Up,
remains at #52, with 16k on the week (903k overall). Things aren’t going so
well for Game, as the Compton
rapper slips from the #72 spot to #79, selling only 10k this week. So far, Game’s
album Doctor’s Advocate has sold 869k.
Indie
hip hop group Gym Class Heroes continues the success of the past two
weeks, as their album As Cruel As School Children jumps from #49 to #40,
with 17k sold. Look for the group to hit the 200k mark as they round out this
week’s sales with 194k sold overall. Though the Indie scene may be flourishing,
established mainstream acts Ludacris and Jay-Z are having trouble
holding onto their spots. Ludacris’ Release Therapy slides 11
spots to #64, seemingly ending the short-lived Grammy boost with 12k on the
week (1.1 million overall). Jay-Z’s Kingdom Come falls from #55
to #67, with 11k for the week (1.3 million overall).
Making
a surprising 14-spot leap is Ciara, whose album Evolution lands
in the #29 spot. The recently platinum-certified album sells 19k this week,
bringing Ciara’s total to just over 1 million. Pretty Ricky manages to
slip out of the top 20 into the #23 spot, as their album Late Night Special moves
22k units this week. After debuting at #1, the album seems to have lost its gas
after 6 weeks and sits at 336k sold overall.
