Hip Hop Album Sales: The Week Ending 3/3/2009

    Fabolous [click to read] took the #1 spot this week, reclaiming Rap to the pinnacle of the Top 200 for the first time since Black Eyed Peas [click to read]. Loso’s Way [click to read]. The effort beat out #2 Daughtry by a margin of over 35,000. Maxwell’s Black Summer’s Night remained at #3 in its third week, still scanning making its motions towards platinum.

    The Black Eyed Peas
    popped back into the Top 5 for the first time with The E.N.D. [click to read]. After a month on charts, the smash album appears as though it’s on its way to platinum before school’s in. Eminem‘s Relapse [click to read] fell to #13. The Aftermath effort is still promised to be the first, as 50 Cent‘s Before I Self Destruct and Dr. Dre‘s Detox are on deck respectively.

    Jeremih
    closed out the Top 25 with his surprise, self-titled seller, backed by “Birthday Sex.”

    T.I. [click to read] appears one or two weeks away of double-platinum status of his acclaimed 2008 album Paper Trail [click to read]. Meanwhile, Ace Hood [click to read] may leave the Top 200 before scanning 40,000 units of his sophomore Ruthless.

    Jadakiss [click to read] heads towards 320,000 units sold of his The Last Kiss [click to read], while longtime peer Busta Rhymes [click to read] likely closes out his chart appearance with the panned Back On My B.S. [click to read].
