This past week was a near carbon copy of the chart ranking of the week before for urban music fans. Lil Wayne‘s I Am Not A Human Being gained a spot and went to #4. Wayne moved into 300,000 territory this past week on the album, with tracks featuring Young Money Records artists such as Nicki Minaj, Drake and Lil Twist. The rapper said in a letter to Billboard.com this week that he intends on promoting the album when he’s released from prison later this month.
Eminem’s Recovery gained three spots and slipped back into the Top 5. The Interscope/Aftermath Entertainment release has the possibility of reaching the three million mark by year’s end.
Trey Songz gained two spots to land at #15 with his Passion, Pain & Pleasure. Hitting the 450,000 unit-mark, Trey may now be Atlantic Records’ biggest star in the wake of T.I.’s legal woes. The Petersburg, Virginia native’s fourth album features Drake and Nicki Minaj.
Songz’ label-mate, Bruno Mars fell five spots to #29 with his debut Doo Wops & Hooligans. After scoring exposure via his “Nothin’ On You” feature alongside B.o.B. earlier this year, Doo Wops & Hooligans features Damian Marley. Mars produced extensively on Cee-Lo’s The Lady Killer album, which releases next week.
Brick Squad rapper Waka Flocka Flame hopped two spots to #34. The Atlanta sensation’s debut, Flockaveli features Pastor Troy, Wale and Uncle Murda.

lol like i said last week BOB has yet to go gold why isnt he on here stop hatein on ross
Nobody hating it’s just Ross got way more promotion and can’t move enough units to pay back the label. Most overrated album of the year hands down!!
yall keep saying he had all this promo what promo 2 or 3 videos gtfoh witht that bs dude never sod big no ross fane here
the truth is they hate ross because of the 50 cent thing bottom line
fuck the police
@ JOE6PACKNCGBOR336:
nah son, ive been hatin on ross since he came out. do you not listen to lyrics? guy lies too much, “i know noreaga the real noreaga”
What yall mean Ross Had no promo? 2-3 videos?? eminem only has 3 videos, but ross was everywhere, constantly touring, on bet 10 times, an every other place imaginable,. eminem on the other hand…4 concerts? a couple magzines. he’s not a crediable artist. and i dont think people like how diddy sayin he like biggie, not even close.
i dont listen to ross no fan
north wesst london!!!! dunn noe!!!
Cardiff man what!!!!!!!! uk representin
well, we have proof that record sales ain’t dead Taylor Swift sold 1,044,000 units first week. The most since the massacre in 05. Now there’s a dedicated fan base, goes out and buys the little lady’s album instead of downloading it.
Now that Limewire has a court induced order to shut down immediately, who knows, album sales might be on the rise this year.
Limewire?? who uses that anymore. Ever heard of torrents??
travis is a nerdy asshole. torrenting whole albums…. prick
actually its since lilwaynes c3 in 08 dumbfuck
actually lil wayne only sold 1,005,000 first week dumbfuck
The nigga is right, album sales ain’t dead if you got a fanbase that dig your music. The problem most of these niggas nowadays have is they try to cater to one sound way too much. Taylor Swift know where her sales are and she markets it, therefore she can go platinum in one week. that and white people actually do buy albums unlike a lot of niggas nowadays who’ll be screaming “Nas my favorite rapper” then go out and burn his shit instead of buying it. Then the same niggas be claiming no rapper can sell albums when they don’t realize its them niggas fucking up the game.
Bawse!!!!!!!!!!!!!
travis:
shut your dry snitchin ass b4 they come and shut down that shit next
Her fanbase isn’t dedicated. Her fanbase is young girls whose parents buy them a Taylor Swift CD. How many parents are gonna buy their 10yr old a rap CD? Rappers need to get rich with smart contracts and live appearances. You don’t need to go Plat to get paid.
and where in tha fuck is Devin The Dude at in ur little article hiphopdx??
at the end of the article, saying it is released next week, read to the end.
i must say im really dissapointed that Teflon Don isn’t doing that well as it was expected & i don’t understand why that’s the case coz that is one of the few hottest hip hop albums we’v had in 2010 so far.
cause it only 2 and half good songs
I’m surprisingly agree that Rick Ross album to sound really good. The production work is outstandingly well produced, and no people I am not a fan or even have any of his albums but I did downloaded some songs from this one tho and so far I see why he’s hitting his Gold mark status.
Because niggas don’t buy albums, they go on file-sharing websites and download them for free, also, Ross doesn’t have a smash crossover single. If he had the ability to get 1 or 2 of those out before TD dropped, he could’ve maybe did more units. It’s abt good music at the end of the day, but if ur a rapper nowadays, unless your name is Eminem or Jay-Z u can’t drop an album w/o a smash single and little-to-no promotion and expect it to go platinum
“Love the Way You Lie (Part 2)” video on the way soon, check out this video of the making of right here

Holy shit Taylor Swift 1,044,000 albums sold in the first week. Album sales ain’t dead if you market yourself right. Niggas gotta realize this. As much as I hate Wayne, the nigga know how to market his music so that shit sells. Still can’t believe the Bawse ain’t gold yet. Best album of the fucking year.
Bawse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Get a fuckin clue u stan, ‘Rick Ross’ is a cop. a motherfuckin cop who denied it till the end cos he knows he’s a fake ass bitch. he is not a drug baron, he is a policeman. jesus ‘Bawwwwwse’ – no, stfu.
Taylor Swift is a country singing pop star. That shit aint got shit to do with Hip Hop
To Gavin:
No shit dumbfuck, I’m just mentioning her because all these niggas keep saying niggas can’t sell records no more. With the right marketing, you can still sell. And BTW all you niggas bitching saying black people can’t sell records, get a clue, yall niggas be burnin them CDs instead of buying em and yet bitch when your favorite rapper can’t sell. Fucking hypocrites.
Bawse!!!!!!
Why Are People Buyin Rick Ross’s Shit? He’s 100% fabricated
man haterz is getting mad that ross is about to go gold he has the best album of the year hands down
True dat. Lot of hating ass niggas on this site.
WHY IS LECRAE NOT ON THESE CHARTS? ON BILLBOARD.COM HE’S HIGHER THAN MOST OF THESE FOOLS!
C’mon son. Who REALLY listens to Rick Ross? And if you do, don’t you constantly get reminded of him being a CO? I dont know, I just can’t do it, man. Even if he wasn’t a clown, I wouldn’t like him anyways. But straight up, if yall wanna hear some good, quality hip hop, go buy 7L & Esoteric new album, “1212”, and DEFINITELY buy Celph Titled & Buckwild from D.I.T.C.’s new album, “Nineteen Ninety Now.” It’s exactly what the title says, it’s listening to the 90’s hip hop RIGHT NOW in 2010. All the beats are BANGERS! i mean come on, you can’t go wrong with classic BUckwild production, with a crazy muthafucka like Celph Titled rappin over it! COP THAT NOW!!!
absolutely spot on 100% agree co-sign whatever wit this shit. all that sit was perfectly put. people you need to cop those albums, BUY them don’t steal from those real mothafukcas, and get enlightened to some quality hip hop music. it’s good to see other REAL hip hop heads out there who know whats up. we carry the torch out here in these cold days, making sure hip hop truly shines through in the real world
by the way, you would think that because all the Buckwild beats are leftovers and unreleased, they would be average. Not at all, just about every one is a BANGER.
by the way, that track with Vinnie Paz is disgusting!!!!!
YO CHEK DIS BOI PAGE HERE..HE GONA B BIG TRUST ME!!
http://www.myspace.com/cflotentative
I have been waiting for this article for the past week.. because I thought for sure Celph would make it in the top 200… He was the most pre ordered album of the year on UGHH… and has gotten alot of hype over the last few months.. C’mon guys… anyone that listens to Demigodz / AOTP or just hip hop SHOULD have bought this album.. if not please do.. Celph deserves much more respect then Rick Ross / Little Wayne.
Real-Fucking-Talk
Crap Rules Everything Around Me.
feel u bvbv, trash everywhere i love hiphop, but i hate the way we chose what is cool… i wish i was in the 90’s, hip hop was nasty then
http://www.datpiff.com/Orie_Pierre_Raw_Mixtape.m159514.html
yall need top get some of your shit straight…KOD was released in 2009. and although the beats were unused material from KOD he did not write or record to any of them until this year when he got back from europe…and it wouldve been nice if you mentioned that Seepage was only a digital release..the only hard copys were given out for pre-orders
wow it seems if your name ain’t lil wayne (who sucks),jay-z (sellout),Eminem (garbage now),kanye west (Pop artist),Drake (sucks,he only selling because of the hype) T.I your not gonna go platinum..gold is the new standard these days in hip hop..people say hip hop is dead which it is..the quality is very rare, the sales are pathetic, the promotion is terrible..i mean it seems you have to have a crossover hit just to get your name out there..no one likes gangsta/hardcore rap anymore..i do but others don’t..smh wake up people
a Nas stan talking shit? Yet he collaborated with Lil Wayne and even signed to Jay-Z’s label before he formed Roc Nation? Hypocrite!
Yo…I went into Newbury Comics and the Celph Titled album was in the number 30 spot, I believe. Shouldn’t he be on the charts??
Tech N9ne’s K.O.D. was 2009, not 2008
