Now that reports indicate Nas will join Jay’s label, many are wondering what others in Jigga’s camp think about the move. At one point, it was rumored that Nas and Jay’s protege Memphis Bleek had the real beef.
On Monday, Bleek spoke to MTV about meeting with Nas and squashing the beef.
“It was like this notch off my shoulder. I’m from the streets: I got a lot of problems with a lot of people, and each one is like a chip on your shoulder. But [the problems with Nas] are over. Nas is a good dude. If I’d met him before the rumors and we doing what we doing [battling], it would never have happened,” he said.
Bleek went on to talk about how he felt about Jay and Nas on-stage together.
“I felt it was good for two higher powers to come together to show the youth, like, ‘Yo, let’s just get the money,’ “ he added about Nas.
That same “Let’s Get Money,” attitude fits ATL’s T.I. The rapper is currently formulating plans to expand on his already impressive resume. Aside from being a rapper, T.I,/b> will follow in the footsteps of Jay-Z, Diddy and Nelly to form a clothing line.
“We’re looking into opening our own clothing line and getting into the fashion industry,” he told MTV.
The trap-star was also planning to go to Italy for Fashion Week. “We want to check out the competition, get a feel for the industry before I dive in headfirst.”
On top of clothing, the emcee has his new album The King on his mind. He knows bootleggers are on the prowl and he is ready for them.
“When your record is bootlegged and your record is leaked, obviously there is a lot of demand. In any business, the first rule is supply and demand. If there is a great demand for your product, you must supply it, or someone else will. I tried to beat the bootleggers, and I did, for the most part. If a T.I. fan got the option of going to get these same records from T.I. or a bootlegger, hands down he will get it from T.I. So I figured, hey man, you gonna have to compete with me. Then I’mma give them bonus features. I got records on [my mixtape] you don’t have on your [bootleg].
T.I. says he is still in the lab and will continue to work on new material until he has to meet his deadline.
