Immortal Technique, X-Clan, Saul Williams, Los Nativos and Quinto Sol along with many more will be hitting the same stage for one night only. The festival, dubbed We The People has been tagged as a fest that will unite urban audiences to appreciate art, will be held April 8 in Los Angeles, California.
”Our focus is on demonstrating the conscious side of Hip Hop & Reggae as a tool to demolish racial boundaries, while presenting a platform for raw, uncensored social views of the underground Punk Rock scene,” organizers have say of the event.
In a DX Exclusive, Quinto Sol band-member, poet and guest Tezozomoc say artists on the bill hope to raise awareness with their show. ”We hope to reach those, especially, with no consciousness. Quinto Sol and the other artists that will be there are composed of high levels of consciousness and political resistance, so anyone basically who wants to grow intellectually and learn,” he told DX.
Tezozomoc also says fans should leave the fest with more than just a good time. ”One thing the people should take is the fact that they could be just as creative and knowledgeable as anyone performing that day if they put thier heart, mind, spirit, soul and energy into it,” he added.
