HHDX News Bits (Thursday)

Some updated release dates for y’all, Kool G Rap “The Giancanna Story” is scheduled for May 14th, Cormega “The True Meaning” on June 11th, Cee Lo “Cee Lo Green and His Perfect Imperfections” is pushed back to April 23rd.

Farewell Fondle’Em, hello Fruitmeat. According to the liner notes of the Def Jux release, “Farewell Fondle’Em,” a tribute to Bobbito Garcia’s now-extinct label, Bobbito has started a new label called Fruitmeat Records.

“Odd Couple,” the single from Ghostface Killah and Cappadonna will appear on Rawkus’ third installment of the Soundbombing series. That seems kind of out of place doesn’t it? As long as RA The Rugged Man does a track, I’ll be happy.

Apparently Ali Vegas is going to sign a deal with Loud Records.

Look for a new Big Shug LP called “Who’s Hard?” Expect contributions from Primo.

This or that? Black Sheep is back! The duo has reunited and will drop a new LP called “Same Sheep, Different Day.”

There has been a lot of talk and speculation regarding Tommy Boy and the status of their hip hop artists, specifically De La Soul. De La has officially moved to Elektra but apparently the move has killed their plans to release part 3 of the Art Official Intelligence series. De La has mentioned leaking to the Internet if there is no (art) official release. Speaking of De La, the song they did with Cee Lo on AOI:2, “Held Down,” is just fucking incredible.

    Peace.
