HHDX News Bits (Suge Knight Evicted, Youngbloodz & Snoop Dogg)

Los Angeles police officers were on hand as former Death Row Records CEO, Marion “Suge” Knight was evicted from his condo on Wilshire Blvd.

According to columnist Janet Charlton,“there were two black and white police cars plus a car with detectives”, standing by as Suge‘s possesions were forcibly removed and loaded into a truck.

The building is complete with many other wealthy residents such as Carol Burnett, Patti LaBelle and Farrah Fawcett who witnessed the departure from their address.

Knight is currently deeply involved in the financial dealings and court battles surrounding his Death Row ties.  Last week, the label was sued for $300,000 by the popular southern label, Rap-A-Lot Records, in an attempt to collect money involved in the 2Face album. Knight previously filed bankruptcy in 2006 to avoid paying a $107 million judgment to the Harris family, which claimed they help build the label by investing $1.5 million.

The Death Row label was given to a court-appointed bankruptcy-trustee in July of 2006 after a judge ruled that it was mismanaged due to accounting practices.

The Youngbloodz are suing Sony BMG Music Entertainment for $50 million.

The group claims that the label breached a contract that entitled them to royalties for all downloaded songs. Sean Paul and partner J-Bo only dropped one album off the label, which was 2006’s best of
    compilation Still Grippin’ Tha Grain.

Member Sean Paul is supposedly set to ink a deal with Diplomat Records as an artist under their Dipset South division while J-Bo has just released his own STILL Against the Grain mixtape.

Snoop Dogg is looking into settling the $2 million lawsuit that he filed in late November against Priority Records for breach of contract.

According to the Doggfather since EMI has taken over Priority records they have fail to comply with agreements that they made with him. The label is stating that Snoop waited too long to file and that the claim should be stopped.

Snoop‘s lawyer, Kenneth D. Freundlich, is waiting on approval from his client in order to start with the mediation hearing. Judge, Robert Hess, has ordered both sides to court on Aug. 27 for an update on the case.

Snoop is currently overseas after the remainder of his UK tour with co-headliner Sean Combs was recently cancelled, due to British authorities refusing to grant him entry into the country.
