Inwhat is surely the biggest endorsement Jay-Z has ever done (for beer, at least), President Carter will be featured a Super Bowl commercial for Budweiser beer – with Hall of Famer Don Shula, no less! The commercial has Jay and Shula competing in a holographic “chess-like” football game.
Since October 2006, when Jay agreed to consult on Budweiser advertisements, he has made one other commercial with segments of his video from “Show Me What YouGot.”
The
Super Bowl will air on February 4th.
Having not released an album since 2005’s The Day After, Twista is back in the studio working on his new LP, Adrenaline Rush 2010.
Chi-Town’s rapid-fire MC is releasing the album on Atlantic Records, with guests such asvPharrell, Lil’ Wayne,
Snoop Dogg, Cee-Lo, and R. Kelly. Production will feature The Legendary Traxter and Just Blaze.
Look for Adrenaline Rush 2010 to drop this summer.
In what could be the biggest move in music of the year, the Electric and Musical
Industries Group has merged Capitol records with Virgin records. The new label
will be known as the Capitol Music Group.
“The combined artist roster, talent and market share of this new label group
establishes Capitol Music Group as one of the U.S. music industry’s leading
labels,” said EMI chairman Eric Nicoli. “We will maintain operations
in both New York and Los Angeles.”
Artists affected by the merger include Faith Evans, Sleepy Brown, Chingy, Bizzy Bone, Beenie Man, and many more.
