David Banner has a new album coming out soon. But, he’s also prepping the release of This Christmas, a film he’s made with friend Chris Brown.
“I
always wanted to do a Christmas movie about what really happens for us
in the ‘hood during Christmas, ’cause Christmas isn’t really a good
time for people where I’m from,” David Banner told MTV about his new film.
“What I do like about ‘This Christmas’ is it really shows that it
doesn’t matter what kind of family you have — black, white, Latino — we
all bring a lot of problems home. We also bring a lot of light and a
lot of joy home too, so ‘This Christmas’ really shows how this
synthesis works.”

David Banner, who also appears in Black Snake Moan, will be releasing what he calls “the best album ever in history.”

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony will take place in New York. While in the birthplace of Hip-Hop, it’s fitting that Hip-Hop will be present at this year’s event.
Jay-Z will be attend, as he is scheduled to induct Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. Patti
Smith will also be inducted. Rapper/Lead Singer of Rage Against the Machine Zach de la Rocha will induct her.

R.E.M and The Ronnettes will also be inducted into the Hall.
The ceremony will take place March 12.
In other news…
Eagle Records and Eagle Eye Media are set to release “Run DMC Live at Montreux 2001.” This DVD/album will feature classics such as Walk This Way and Peter Piper.
Expect this release to hit stores in early April.
