After rumors that he reportedly took home $100 million from Coca-Cola’s acquisition of Glaceau Vitamin Water, 50 Cent continues to boost his profile. During the launch of his G-Unit showroom in New York, 50 confirmed that he will star alongside Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino in the upcoming film Righteous Kill.
According to reports from the New York Daily News, 50’s addition will be somewhat of a surprise.
“I’m not even sure they know yet,” said 50. “Me and Robert were supposed to shoot a film where I played a police officer, but now Al and Robert play the cops.”
While no details have yet emerged as to exactly which role 50 will play, the crime drama is scheduled for a 2008 release. The film marks 50’s first foray back into cinema since 2006’s Home Of The Brave, and, in addition to any YouTube clips, should continue to keep him in the headlines between his upcoming releases Curtis and Before I Self Destruct.
Black Eyed Peas front man and producer will.i.am will team up with noted L.A. based fashion designer and Black Eyed Peas stylist Lor-E Phillips to design a collection of exclusive uniforms for Hard Rock Hotels and Casinos. The collection will feature 27 uniforms for both men and women. Phillips has also collaborated with will.i.am on the “i.am clothing” collection, which is currently available exclusively at Fred Segal in Santa Monica, California.
“Designing clothes for Hard Rock Hotels was an exciting and challenging proposition that, given my background and own line, I was eager to accept,” said will.i.am. “My goal was to create a look that exudes upscale rock ‘n roll, leveraging the essence of the brand while contemporizing the staff’s wardrobe to provide a more stylistic and fashion-forward appearance.”
Hard Rock will debut the designs at their two newest properties: Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Biloxi, opening July 7, and Hard Rock Hotel San Diego, which is slated for an opening in the fall of 2007. Hard Rock will roll out the uniforms to eight other Hard Rock Hotel and Casino properties in operation or development in 2008. In addition to his fashion and production endeavors, will continues to put the finishing touches on his debut solo album, Songs About Girls, which is scheduled for a September release.
