Halle Bailey was touched by her sister Chloe‘s kind words while discussing her role in the upcoming Disney live-action remake of The Little Mermaid.

Ahead of the film’s upcoming release, Halle Bailey stopped by the Tamron Hall Show to share her thoughts on the movie, as well as her audition and landing of the role. However, there was one moment that caught the attention of fans.

During their conversation, the host revealed she had a surprise message for the actress and singer from “someone special” — her older sister, Chloe Bailey. The young star was left in tears by the heartwarming message.

Despite working on separate careers, the former singing duo appear to still be very close.

“Halle I love you so much,” Chloe began. “I am just so incredibly proud of you. I am the proudest sister in the entire world.”

She continued: “Thank you for inspiring me. Thank you for inspiring all the beautiful young boys and girls out there who will now see you on that screen, and know they can be anything they want to in the world. It doesn’t matter what anybody tells them. I’m so proud of you. I’m so happy the world gets to see your light, [which] [is] something that I’ve always seen since we were little girls. Just enjoy it.”

The Little Mermaid live action remake is scheduled to hit theaters on May 26.

Halle was announced as the film’s star in 2019, but after the first teaser was released last September, the film received mixed response from the public for casting a Black actress as Ariel, who had originally been white in the 1989 original animated movie.

But everything isn’t all roses for the singer at the moment. It has been rumored once again, that her relationship with DDG might have come to an end.

Earlier this week, Twitter user @ThePopTingz clowned DDG by referring to him as an “E-list rapper” sparked by the “Elon Musk” artist and Halle Bailey unfollowing each other on Instagram.

“Halle Bailey and E-list rapper DDG are rumored to have broken up,” Pop Tingz wrote in a tweet that has amassed 64,000 likes as of press time.

Following the news, DDG responded via Twitter and laughed off claims that he’s an “E-list rapper.”

“E-list rapper kinda funny ngl lol,” he wrote accompanied by a separate awkward video clip of him laughing off the troll.
