Gunlay references 50 Cent on his remix of Bobby Shmurda’s “Hot Nigga.”
On the track, Gunplay says, “Bitch, I’m ‘bout a hundred. What the fuck is 50 Cent?”
The line is pulled from Jay Z’s “It’s Hot (Some Like It Hot)” song, which features the line: “Go against Jigga, yo’ ass is dense / I’m about a dollar, what the fuck is 50 cents?”
The Jay Z line is from the “It’s Hot” cut, which appears on 1999’s Vol. 3…Life And Times Of S. Carter.
Gunplay has a longstanding feud with 50 Cent. In 2012, Gunplay said the following regarding an alleged altercation with 50 and his affiliates.
“I don’t know [why it started], it’s just what happens,” he said. “I was by myself, and we ran it, and it was one on five, five on one, I took it to ’em and that’s it…I don’t know nothing about no shots fired, I’ma be totally honest with you, but all I know [is] I had to fight off five dudes…I never liked [50], I’ve always wanted to kick his ass, finally got the opportunity to get close to him [and] he was hiding behind all his security. I couldn’t get to him [and] try to break his little fuckin’ neck…I’m not playing with it, they playing with it…if you fuck with me, if you play with me, you might get gunned down. You never know.”
Later in the same year, Gunplay said the following regarding his scuffle with 50 Cent and his associates.
“I ain’t gonna say the donkey’s name because I ain’t gonna ruin a career already ruined,” he said. “So off the top, we’re going to call him donkey because he’s the donkey of the day. So the donkey walks with eight other donkeys. I see him, I was getting ready to go catch my ride. Police told me I couldn’t leave the trailers. I look, I turn around and see the donkey with eight more donkeys and it was either me jump the barrier and run or stand, pull up my pants and knuckle it out with the donkey. He walks up to me with about eight donkeys and he nodded ot one of the donkeys set it off and we rumbled,” he continued. “I stood up in the paint like a real G supposed to when five bodyguards that’s trained to kill a human with one finger… They like refrigerators and shit like that. I caught one of the refrigerators though, like a lion on a wildebeest.”
That year, Gunplay said he wouldn’t reconcile with 50 Cent or anybody else.
“I don’t shake hands,” he said. “Never, never, never. I never shook hands with anybody. I got beef with kids in elementary school and if I see ’em now, I’ma jump ‘em.”
In October 2012, 50 Cent appeared to go bowling while wearing Gunplay’s MMG chain.
Last week, 50 Cent commented on running out of negative energy. He said: “I hate to disappoint you but I’ve run out of negative energy.the same effort i used to destroy, I’m using to build.”
