Gunna did not snitch on Young Thug in the ongoing YSL RICO case, according to the crew’s co-founder Mondo.

In a lengthy Instagram Story, the rapper/record executive (real name Fremondo Crenshaw) walked back previous statements that Gunna had told on Thug to secure a plea deal and his subsequent release from jail.

Mondo wrote: “I’m man enough to say I should’ve never spoken about the Gunna situation because technically he didn’t rat. He just kinda folded under pressure & should’ve just stayed down with his mans till everything was over cause all the originals know he ain’t did nothing wasn’t even around from the beginning.”

He continued by claiming that somebody else actually snitched on Thugger: “So he wasn’t going to do no real time regardless I feel bad cause now a n-gga who literally is a real live rat running around the city getting glorified & smiling like he ain’t just send multiple n-ggas to jail. I was so mad & hurt at the same time that my brother going through this shit after he turned a lot of n-ggas up.

“That’s the only reason I started talking about Gunna but I’m a real n-gga in real life. Ain’t no mystery in my history. I’m not afraid to say when I was wrong & saying Gunna is a rat was dead ass wrong but I can’t take nothing back. I just got to stand on whaat I said & take whatever comes with it.”

Mondo also praised Gunna for continuing to rep YSL in the more than two years since Young Thug’s arrest, with his last two albums A Gift & A Curse and One of Wun both being released through the label.

Ever since he accepted a plea deal in the RICO case in December 2022, Gunna has been plagued by snitching accusations but has vehemently denied the claims.

“While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way,” he said following his release from jail.

The “Fukumean” rapper also has been defended by others in Thug’s inner circle, including his father.

“I love Gunna,” Jeffery Williams Sr. told radio host Infamous Sylvia last year. “Let me try to help the attorney clarify that a little simpler. Gunna hasn’t done anything whatsoever that can hurt us on this case. Period.”
