Queens, New York rapper Grafh has announced his departure from his label, longtime manager Chaz Williams and Black Hand Entertainment. In a statement, Grafh explains that it was a difficult decision to part ways with his former manager but that there are no hard feelings.
“I have a major announcement to make: I am a free agent,” he said. “I am no longer signed to any label. My long-time manager and mentor, Chaz Williams, and I have also decided to end our professional relationship. Anyone who has followed my career thus far knows how hard of a decision this was for me. My name has been synonymous with Chaz and Blackhand since the beginning. Therefore, I wanted to take the time to explain.”
He explains that there is no ill will between him and Chaz. “To be clear, there is no beef between Chaz and myself. We are family, and will always be family. It was a mutual decision to go our separate ways,” he continued. “We’ve both been busy with our own projects, and this was just a natural progression. I’m going in a new direction creatively, and needed to start fresh in order to make that transition. Chaz has been supportive of my growth. It’s all about the present.”
With the recent addition of “several talented people to my creative team,” Grafh is prepping the release of his new EP titled The Rule, releasing in July and serving as a precursor to his upcoming debut album.
“Everything from the music production, videos, photography, mixing and mastering were done in-house. The Rule is a different – it looks and sounds like nothing I’ve done before, and I’m really excited for its release in July,” he said. “As to whether or not I stay independent long-term, I’m undecided. Right now, I love it. There are no middlemen between me and my fans. I have all the tools I need to release music and connect with those who appreciate it.”
Who? And take off the Yankees cap, asswipe, you’re from QUEENS.
Aint No Yankees fans in Queens? Werd?
Leaving Big Chaz is a big move for Grafh.
Dude Been A Star. Seen Him RIP a showcase in SOB’s last year.
Wonder what his “new sound” gon sound like…
He’s from NY and can rock a Yankees fitted. The Mets suck anyways.
been waiting for Grafh to make a return. Cant wait to hear dudes new music, his flow is sickness.
who cares GRAFH i mean really doe its only been about 10yrs since u jumped on the seen an u havent realesed an official lp yet basically what im tryin to say is find a park bench & put a newspaper under ya arm “BUM” LOL
This is a good move for Grafh. I think seperating himself from Blackhand will allow him to finaly make some real moves. Hes got the talent to be a crossover artist for real! I can see Grafh on some Fab type popularity with the right team. I think its high time he signed to a major…
haha grafh is such a loser. what has he accomplished in over a decade of rapping? NOTHING. not one signature song, verse, or album. it was all the labels fault. this nigga is extra vanilla, plain bagel, all cheese. he waits for some NY nigga to come with a hot song, and he raps verses over it and makes it a video. creative kid, that grafh. grafh and red cafe = 2 of the most generic, useless, NY niggas to ever spit.
What the fuck does being from Queens have to with rocking a Yankees cap idiot? It’s a New York thing… Not a Borough thing. SMH. God save the children
Comment was meant for MOOKIE Wilson
Ten years too late, breh. The Black Gangster soundtrack was the highlight of Blackhand Entertainment’s music career. The writing’s been on the wall for a long time. Even Foxy saw it. Chaz was able to pull off the soundtrack with Preme’s juice card. He pulled a fast one on Preme and it’s been downhill ever since. He thought he was smart, but everyone done figured out his game.
How do you put out an album with all the hottest names of the time on it and not capitalize on your company’s brand? Chaz is damn near 60 and stuck in his ways. These days aren’t the old days anymore. Either piss or walk away from the pot.
really wish it would come together for grafh, I think he could really produce a good album. He’s better than most of the garbage out right now.
He’s one of only a handful of artists who i have paid money for one of their mixtapes.
