Gillie Da Kid has beaten a number of his rap peers on the basketball court, but he may have bitten off more than he can chew with his latest hoops challenge.

Former NBA Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford has responded to Gillie after the podcast host boldly claimed he could “cook” him in a game of one-on-one.

“Aye @gilliedakid, they slipped you something real serious huh? I don’t bother nobody, now you want ‘Jamal Wick Crawford’ to play 1’s with?! This will be worst than what the Hitman did to Martin. It’s on,” Crawford wrote on X over the weekend.

The conversation was sparked by a recent episode of Million Dollaz Worth of Game with guests Cam’ron and Ma$e, during which Gillie puffed his chest out and issued a challenge to J. Crossover.

“I bet you Jamal Crawford will not accept this challenge one-on-one,” the Philly native said. “I will cook the shit [out of him]. Let me just say this, Jamal Crawford is gonna get his baskets — that’s what he do. He cook everybody.

“But guess who else going in the oven? Jamal fucking Crawford. He gotta guard me. I’m like Bubba Chuck. I know I’m a motherfucking liability on muthafucking defense, but I’m such a liability on offense that it don’t even fuckin matter.”

Gillie Da Kid continued by explaining how he’s defeated artists like Rob49, Russ and Chris Brown on the court in the past, and has even competed with famed NBA trainer Lethal Shooter.

Gillie’s co-host Wallo even slid into Jamal Crawford’s DM in an attempt to mend fences, but it was too late as the former Knick accepted the challenge and raised the stakes with a $50,000 charity game offer.

“That’s what family is for @wallo267 …But I’m about to do @gilliedaking worst than Hitman Hearns did to Martin,” Crawford declared in an Instagram comment. “Y’all got new money..50k going to winners charity! It’s on.”

While Jamal last suited up in the NBA for the Brooklyn Nets back in 2020, nearly all of the comments were on his side as fellow NBA retiree Jalen Rose said he’d “bet his life” on JC bringing home the win against Gillie.
