Philly rapper Gillie Da Kid was arrested Feb.6 in Philadelphia after allegations of owning and operating two drug houses. Officers searched the houses after obtaining a tip. Once there police recovered 89 pounds of weed with a street value of $404,000. Gillie along with five other suspects were arrested and charged with conspiracy and possession of narcotics with the intent to deliver.
“They were supplying numerous drug dealers all over the city, not just in the Northeast,” Sgt. Robert Friel of Narcotics Field Unit 2.
Authorities approached the rapper and other suspects after their attempt to leave the house were they just received a delivery of marijuana.
Gillie is best known for his back and forth battle with Cash Money rapper Lil’ Wayne. He alleges of writing all of Wayne‘s songs.
