Ghostface to Release R&B Album?

Ghostface isn’t known for his R&B singing so it was understandable that skepticism grew when fans heard Ghost would be dropping an R&B album. Fans can somewhat be relieved to find out that it is only being called that. While it may carry that label, the new album will feature Ghost doing what he’s known for and fans can be sure to expect him rhyming.

The R&B portion of the disc will come from other artists. In this case, expect notable R&B acts to join Ghost as he flows over soulful tracks, according to an MTV interview with Lenny Santiago, Vice President of A&R at Def Jam [click here].

The new album is called The Wizard of Poetry,” Santiago told MTV. “It is an R&B album. When I say that, this is what I mean: Ghostface usually raps over melodic, soulful R&B tracks. This time, we came around and I had him rhyme over the same type of tracks, but we matched him with great R&B stars. John Legend is on there. Raheem DeVaughn is on there. Estelle is on there. Musiq Soulchild is on there. Lloyd is on there. We just paired him up. It’s the same Ghost, the same gritty host, the same Ghost that talks to the ladies in that soulful voice along with R&B hooks.”

Ghost may be prepping the release of another solo project but he has not forgotten his brothers from the Wu. Ghost will join his Wu partner Method Man on tour as he continues to push his work with Redman. According to Billboard, fans will be able to catch all three on The Footprint of Hip Hop Tour [click here].
