Ghostface Killah Wants To Make An Album With Silk Sonic Duo Anderson .Paak & Bruno Mars

Ghostface Killah is one of the most gifted lyricists in the game, and he’s proven his skill set over the years by rapping over a variety of beats. However, there’s a type of production that Ghost yearns for and Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak are providing that sound with their collaborative album, An Evening With Silk Sonic.

The Silk Sonic duo unleashed their new album on Friday (November 12), and it’s filled with the R&B vibes they embraced on “Leave The Door Open,” which was released in March. As a huge fan of R&B music, Ghost is surely checking for An Evening With Silk Sonic, especially after doing an unofficial remix to “Leave The Door Open” in July.

Ghostface Killah’s remix drew all types of responses from fans on social, with Ghost admitting, “I saw the comments and I was dying. Someone told me to ‘keep the door closed.'” But that isn’t discouraging him from wanting to dip further into his soul bag.

During a recent interview with HipHopDX, Ghost revealed he wants to do more than just a remix and actually get in the studio with Silk Sonic to record an entire project.

“Those are my beats right there,” Ghostface said. “Those are the beats they’re supposed to call me on and get on. You not supposed to leave me out of here. When I see Bruno, I’ma tell that n-gga that you can’t leave me out of that shit like that man.”

Now, with Ghost’s legendary status, one may think it should be easy for him to get in contact with Silk Sonic, but that’s not the case. Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars are already stars in their own right, and their union has only propelled them further into the spotlight. But Ghost knows no other rapper could get a project off with them as he could.

“I never hit them up because, first of all, it’s hard to get in touch with these guys,” he said. “You can’t even DM them. They won’t see it unless they follow you. I wish I could get to them and talk to them and be like, ‘Yo let’s do shit. Let’s do a six-song project just for the fuck of it.’ It’s music now. Let’s just do it. I’m ready for it.”

Ghostface Killah Adds His Pretty Toney Touch To Silk Sonic's 'Leave The Door Open'

Ghost is more than ready to take on the challenge as he dropped an all-R&B project in 2009 titled Ghostdini: Wizard of Poetry in Emerald City. The album, which he also revealed is his favorite in his catalog, had Ghostface rapping over lush R&B production with features by John Legend, Raheem DeVaughn, Lloyd and more.

    1. No offence to ghost but he doesn’t bring anything to the table main stream wise for silk to be interested. That’s the record industry, it’s all about who’s selling and what’s profitable. I mean even as a rap fan since the 90s I wouldn’t be interested in it because it feels like the whole wu hype died many years back. Let’s be honest, no one is really buying the ghostface albums like back in the day. I feel a good fit would be j Cole and silk.

        1. His vocals declined his rhyme scheme is boring and hasn’t had a good album since mid 2000s. I know those 9 likes are the wu tang affiliates

      1. Word. Ghost needs to focus on output. There is a new generation of fans who know wu as a whole (Hulu and wu wear) but not ghost on his own. Wu needs to drop an album first then people can drop individual projects

      2. What are you talking about??? Fuck outta here looser. Ghostface would smoke that and is a way better fit than J.Cole. Ghost has consistently rapped over beats like this…thats his bag. Cole would absolutely not be a good fit. Ross or Fab would be a way better fit than Cole, but none of them would be as good of a fit than Ghostface.

        1. Yea I agree. Ghost has still got game when it comes to stuff like this. Not the same but similar was his collaboration album with BADBADNOTGOOD, ‘Sour Soul’

I thoroughly enjoyed that project, also because I’m a fan of both parties.

    2. Ghost has once said he’d like to do an album with R. Kelly…ghost loves soul music man….that’s his vein right there….but I’m sure this won’t ever happen, but if it were to happen, ghost would put that hood spin on it to make it more classic than what it would be without him.

With that being said, I’m still looking for pure Ghost soon!! LOL

    3. Ghost aint had a hot album in a while. He’s lost his fastball a little. Delivery aint quite the same. This will never happen tho

    4. I don’t know if it will ever happen, like a lot of other “ideas” coming fron the Wu-camp, but it is definitely something I can see him doing. He always showed his love for soul and R&B music and this could definitely work. Anyway, if it ever happens is a different question…

    5. Silk Sonic album sounds like what if a watered down MJ and Kendrick made a group of songs for a Coke-a-Cola commercial that only airs on BET in 2011.
