Ghostface Killah says he had every intention of working with Biggie before The Notorious B.I.G. was killed. The two New York emcees met briefly in Los Angeles prior to Biggie’s untimely death, but their collaboration didn’t come to fruition.
“Before Biggie died I wanted to work with him and shit,” Ghost says in an interview with XXL’s Jake Rohn. “I shook his hand out here [in Los Angeles]. I shook his hand. Me and him, because I had said a little something on Raekwon’s Cuban Link album. Remember, we was 25, buggin’ out. Wild. But as time went on, you know, because it really wasn’t no beef, just something I said or whatever-whatever. But I wanted to hook up with him and tell him, like, ‘Part of me, whatever-whatever-whatever-whatever, B,’ ’cause I liked him. I liked B.I.G. It’s just that we was coming in wild so a lot of things that I say was out there, like, ‘Oh shit you talkin’ about B.I.G.’ I wanted to just be like, ‘Yo, let’s clear the air and let’s go ahead and just do a joint.’”
Many have often speculated that Ghostface Killah was referencing The Notorious B.I.G.’s Ready To Die album cover on “Shark Niggas (Biters),” when he says “niggas bit off of Nas’ shit, caught his little album cover, boom, then done did a Nas for that shit.”
Despite speculations surrounding this, Ghostface and B.I.G. met briefly at a Los Angeles concert. Ghost says they would see one another prior to this, but neither side would approach the other. This time, they shook hands. This would be the last time the two would see each other.
“The next day…They got to him,” Ghost recalls. “They got to him. They got to him. And I was more hurt over his death than Tupac’s death because it just felt like, we’re from the same city and…I don’t know. Maybe because I didn’t see ‘Pac that much or whatever the case may be, or get to hear a lot of his music like that. Don’t get me wrong, I love his music, but I wasn’t hearing it like B.I.G. And Meth did the song with Biggie.”
Ghost, who says he stayed in Los Angeles for about a month following Biggie’s death, says he was hurt and upset about the situation.
The Notorious B.I.G. died on March 9, 1997 after being shot multiple times. He was 24.

2pac was a homo.
Biggie was illuminati.
Screw you and your bolt-on Illuminegro talk. Nail, man.
You’re an idiot.

Even though HipHopDX are trying to make it look headline worthy, it really isn’t. He was hurt more by the passing of someone he knew more… well obviously.
2Pac was the better artist though.
That’s really debatable. Most of Pac’s songs where just cliche gangsta rap music. He was all about smoking weed, drinking Hennessy, riding on his enemies, being a thug, fuck the police. He was and is very overrated. I am convinced his GOAT status is mostly because he died young and became a martyr. Don’t get me wrong I love Pac and his music. I own all of his albums from 2pacalypse to Makaveli, and even some of his posthumous work. But I am tired of people sucking his dick and making him into some sort of God.
@ anonymous…so if you don’t suck Pac’s dick, whose dick do you suck? You have to have a GOAT artist right? I’m guessing that artist is Piggie?
^ Tupac was the better artist IMO…not saying he was the greatest of all time…but his subject matters were much more diverse over the course of his catalogue than BIG’s in my view…but then biggie only dropped 2 LPs. But there were certain types of records than 2pac did that big could’ve have pulled off as well. Plus he could act (& was pretty good at it). So yea as much as i dig Notorious Big, in my view i’d have to say pac was the all round better artist.
could u imagine a 3rd album from biggie?? It seem like it probly would of came out in 2000 or something…i honesty dont think biggie or pac would be who they are today (legends) if they didnt die..no disrespect…
I mean just imagine if Nas would of died in 96 after It was written came out….everybody woulda been saying oh Nas was the greatest he had the best 2 albums ever….but had no idea his next album was Nastradamus and sucked compared to his previous 2..
biggies third album probly would of been comericial as shit foreal while pacs next album saw a decrease in album sales lol u feel me
i just look at shit a lil different man u never kno…i dont think big would even fuck wit niggas like jay, dame or even camron
I always wondered that myself too….not many rappers are still felt as much as they were when they were first on the scene. It’s just like Marvin Gaye, he died young, his career, even though had spanded over 3 decades, was still young (that’s r&b, though, this is hiphop here).
Hip Hop really isn’t taken seriously because after you get a certain age, and your message becomes more mature, you lose the core of your listeners, because they can’t relate. So that’s why I feel the same as you, they’d just be guys that made great albums in the past, but now trying to stay relevant.
pac did a song with method man too…”got my mind made up” off the all eyez on me joint
PAC never did a joint with Method Man. Daz did the joint and pac later erased the vocals of DAZ
U dumbass DAZ was the one rappin in the beginnin of the track, Pac aint erase him from the track
He did but what most so called 2pac fanatics dont understand is that a few of the songs on All Eyez were recorded before 2pac even came to DR. California Love (Solo Dre song/Heltah Skeltah), Cant C Me (Dogg Pound song), Got My Mind Made Up (was a Dogg Pound song, 2 Of Amerikkaz Most Wanted (Solo Snoop song) & things like that.
But when it’s other artist peopole say that somebody wrote their albums but im guessing POST DEATH OUT OF NOWHERE JESUS & THE BEST RAPPER OUT OF NOWHERE WHEN PEOPLE DIDNT TREAT HIM DIFFERENTLY THAN ANYONE ELSE PRIOR TO HIS DEATH affects peoples opinion.
Andres Tardio CAN EAT SHIT AND DIE SLOW
SHEEK LOUCH IS GAY AND LAME WU-BLOCK IS WEAK.. SHEEK LOUCH GET SO DEPRESSED THAT HIS CAREER ISN’T WORKING THAT HE PROBABLY BEATS HIS WIFE AND SIPS CORONA ALL DAY JACKING OFF TO HIS B.I.G POSTER WITH NO VASELINE. BIG SEAN IS THE GREATEST
Uhh what?
But as time went on, you know, because it really wasnt no beef, just something I said or whatever-whatever. But I wanted to hook up with him and tell him, like, ‘Part of me, whatever-whatever-whatever-whatever, B,’ cause I liked him.
“part of me”? and not “pardon me”? i guess it would make more sense, lol. journalists, you’re supposed to be well educated and know your shit, please broaden your horizons and get a taste of foreign cultures lol
