Gerald Levert (July 13th, 1966 – November 10th, 2006)

    R&B sensation Gerald
    Levert
    died from a heart attack at his Newbury, Ohio home on Friday. 
    The Columbus native was 40-years-old. 

    Levert first gained fame back in 1986, as a
    member of the R&B trio LeVert, which also included his brother, Sean
    and Marc Gordon. They quickly racked up hits like “(Pop,
    Pop, Pop, Pop) Goes My Mind,” “Casanova,”
    and “Baby
    I’m Ready. 
    He was also part of another R&B group with Keith
    Sweat
    and Johnny Gill, called LSG. He was the son of O’Jays
    singer Eddie Levert.

    The artist had
    just returned from a 10 day trip to South Africa, where the singer had met with
    Nelson Mandela.
