Gangsta Boo‘s cause of death has finally been revealed, more than six months after her sudden and tragic passing.
Acording to Action News 5, the Memphis rapper’s death was ruled an accidental overdose per an autopsy report that was released on Wednesday (June 14).
The report claimed she overdosed on fentanyl, cocaine and ethanol (alcohol).
Gangsta Boo (real name Lola Chantrelle Mitchell) passed away on New Year’s Day at the age of 43. She was discovered unresponsive at her mother’s home in Memphis and pronounced dead at the scene.
Following her death, Gangsta Boo’s mother issued a statement about her daughter’s untimely demise.
“The Mitchell family would like to thank everyone for their condolences regarding the untimely death of Lola ‘Gangsta Boo’ Mitchell,” she told FOX 13 Memphis at the time. “The family is asking for your continued prayers and privacy as we process the loss of our loved one.”
Earlier this year, it was announced a posthumous Gangsta Boo album will be released on August 7 on what would have been the rapper’s 44th birthday.
Run The Jewels, Latto, Skepta, La Chat and Crunchy Black are expected to feature on the project, with production coming from Drumma Boy, Nick Hook and El-P. Metro Boomin and BeatKing are also rumored to be involved.
TMZ reported that DJ Paul and Juicy J — founders of Boo’s former group Three 6 Mafia — were also considering contributing to the project.
Gangsta Boo’s partner and Marriage Boot Camp co-star Emmet Flores recently developed a clothing brand to honor her legacy.
90 percent of the proceeds are going directly to her mother, Veronica Mitchell, with the other 10 percent going towards student tuition at Memphis’ Stax Music Academy.
“My daughter Lola was my only baby girl,” Mitchell said. “I was so proud when she would rap as a little girl. She became the Queen of Memphis.
“My baby is loved by people everywhere, and it all started at home with us. That’s so amazing to me. It makes me smile ear to ear. God brought her home to be with her daddy Cedric and her brother Derron.”
She added: “I miss her, but I know she’s happy with them. I’ll always remember telling her, GO GET THEM DOLLAS, but I had no idea how many people would love my baby girl. I’m grateful all y’all support my daughter. Thank you.”
That Fetty Wap is killing everyone.
drugs r bad…. mmmm kay….
Drug culture these days is the worst I have ever seen it. Drugs have people messed up real bad. Get help people and leave that shit alone. Do you really need to be THAT high on a regular basis???
Only 43, very tragic .. Rest in Peace
Her mom must think everyone makes it to Heaven. Smh.
There’s a lot of people like that, it’s crazy. They think a sinner goes to heaven. Now, I’m not very religious. Idk what to believe in to be honest, but I do know that plenty of people, such as DMX, would be in hell. He could repent all he wanted to, but at the end of the day, he sold his soul to the devil, and admitted it on multiple occasions.
Jesus came to save sinners. DmX repented and trusted Jesus as his savior for his sins. Not even the devil can pluck his soul out of Jesus hands. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one.”
John 10:27-30
Jesus paid for the sins of the whole world. Repentance means to turn away from trusting your own righteousness and trust what Jesus did on the cross at cavalry. He died for everyone’s sins. And you’ll be justified in the site of God and go to Heaven when you die.
God bless
You really believe this stuff? C’mon
They probably still believe in tooth fairy and Santa too, lmao very low IQ
Drug ODs are the #1 way to die young, that is, if yoy arnet a gang banger. Lost my cousin, and two best friends over the years to drug ODs. Each OD was due to fentanyl being in the drugs they were doing. Folks, if you’re gonna snort coke and such, please buy some test kits. Test your drugs. Every single time. My cousin wasn’t a druggy. He did coke occasionally. My two friends who died were both drug addicts. They did heroin and such sadly. But they didn’t intend to do fentanyl. Smartest thing to do is have some smokes and drink some alcohol (well, smarter to do zero drugs, but if you like a buzz, stick with the safe and regulated stuff). Be careful out there friends.
decriminalize all of it the pure worked since fire responsible will be responsible the weak weed themselves out
