Game Says Kendrick Lamar Deserves His Grammy Nominations

Kendrick Lamar’s seven Grammy nominations impressed fellow Compton, California rapper Game

“Man I’m so proud of that dude,” Game says, as per mtv.com. “That’s my little homie. It’s just good to see him getting his just do. He deserves everything he’s getting. Congrats to Kendrick for everything, it’s beautiful. And welcome to the Million Dollar Club.”

On Friday (December 6), Kendrick Lamar received seven bids for his major label debut, good kid, m.A.A.d. city. They include nominations for Album of the Year and Best New Artist.

Los Angeles native Miguel also praised Kendrick Lamar.

“Kendrick is not following in anyone’s footsteps,” Miguel said to mtvnews.com after the Grammy nominations were announced. “He’s on his own path and he’s killing it, as you can see. I think I just appreciate how he told his story. He really let people get to know him through his music and that’s why he’s winning. There’s an authenticity and that’s what I appreciate most from him.”

    1. according to rosenberg, kednrick won aoty with 117 out of the 150 votes which make him the first solo (male) hip hop artist to win the award, HUGE W FOR HIP HOP !!!!

      1. gkmc was on the charts for over a year and went platinum.. three top 40 hits, 2 more as a guest feature.. two gold singles, helped give asap rocky a 2x platinum single.. kendrick’s doing just fine for someone of his caliber..

    2. too bad kendrick is against wack rappers or wack albums, it would have been good to see kendrick vs eminem for the ultimate aoty

    3. he was obvisouly going to be nominated and hes obviously going to win, I haven’t seen an album that much loved by the critics and the hip hop listeners, outstanding.

    4. ALL black artist should win a Grammy. If a white singer wins over a black singer then that is considered racist and we WILL protest the Grammys…you have been warned.

    5. Thanks for the bold statement Game. Now I know that you and everybody else on Planet Earth thinks Kendrick Lamar deserves a Grammy!

      1. Oops, my bad…it doesn’t qualify as a RAP album because he did more singing than rapping. I was just thinking about rapping my lips around his dick and got confused…sorry guys!

    6. That album is overrated, not really feeling any of the songs besides black boy fly, and that was a bonus song. smh That album is for white suburban hipsters, im sorry

    7. gkmc gave me faith in hip hop again, proved me that even old hip hop heads like me could enjoy an album fro mthe new generation

    8. so is that sure ? kendrick really won aoty ? I heard that shit on the radio. let’s hope it’s true but we should wait the official results that are dropping next month !

    9. kendrick winning with 85% of the votes in the new york times, ahaha, that grammy is for you kdot !! I mean.. THESE GRAMMY

    10. Cole should have been nominated instead of yeezus or mchg, born sinner is mediocre but still better than TRASHUS & Magna Carta Holy Trash

    11. “gkmc was on the charts for over a year and went platinum.. three top 40 hits, 2 more as a guest feature.. two gold singles, helped give asap rocky a 2x platinum single.. kendrick’s doing just fine for someone of his caliber..”

A very weak platinum… Guest features that didn’t help Curtis or Robin Thicke, and suddenly gold singles impress you? When Khaled gets certified gold or platinum you shit on him. You’re a fucking cheerleading hypocrite.

      1. No such thing as a weak platinum. There’s many more guest features he did. Kendrick’s accomplishments are more impressive than Khaled’s.

      2. why are you comparing khaled to kendrick?.. khaled is a dj and kendrick is a rapper, two very different artists.. for someone like kendrick helping bring lyricism and substance back to the mainstream, all those stats are pretty good.. and don’t assume that i shit on khaled whenever he gets plaques.. good for him but i don’t care for his music as it’s all very repetitive to me, minus that scarface and nas joint..

    12. Amazing album. When I listen to it, it was more than music, it was a story of a person just like me with dreams, fear, dangers, trouble, happiness, adolescence and maturity. He stayed true to his roots he kept it original but different. God bless Kendrick Lamar and hip hop

    13. Good god, I havent heard an album like this in a GOOD minute. I will actually purchase this rather than download it. If hip hop artist pumped out more stuff like this, labels could move units like it was ’98.

    14. One thing I liked about the production of this album is that the beats are different from current hip hop albums and it sounded like all the producers were on the same page. It almosts seems as if the whole album was produced by one person. That’s how smoothly the album flows. Classic album Kendrick !

      1. Born Sinner has nothing to do with the ‘Album Of The Year’ award. J. Cole isn’t good enough for that. At first, Cole needs to fix his flow and voice to be good in my opinion. And stop making his own beats, because they sound terrible.
Kendrick has the flow, voice and he usually picks great beats – he deserves all the buzz he gets.

    15. How did Kendrick get nominated for good kid made city but he didn’t get any nominations for his Control System album? Or was that just a mixtape because I don’t really remember. Anyways we all know he’s gonna win best new artist, but I’m not gonna lie. Tech N9ne deserves the ‘Best New Artist’ award. If you guys haven’t heard yet, go check out his debut album that dropped this year called ‘Something Else’. Album of the year followed by J Coal’s Born Sinner. Real hip-hop heads would agree.

    16. who the fuck likes kendrick and drake anyway? their music aint shit out here IN OAKLAND! we aint got love for no soft ass rnb singer or wannabe compton ass muthafucka trying to rap in here haha.

one thing about these faggots, they makes 14 out of 16 tracks about their money, WHO THE FUCK DO THAT? fuckin dumb asses, we dont give a fuck !

fucking sellout bitches fuck outta here

      1. I’m 38 and kendrick is slowly making it into my top 5 of all time. he is one of the most complex rappers I have heard since Nas and rakim

    17. This album will go down as one of the best albums of all time for any genre just like Illmatic, Reasonable Doubt, Ready to Die and the other rap albums that are considered the best of all time. When those albums came out we didn’t understand how great they because were very young at the time. Now we have a chance to witness a classic and a legend in the making. The storytelling is amazing. It’s like a movie. You can’t just listen to a couple of songs or skip through. You have to listen straight through from beginning to end.

    18. This album is ahead of its time. Perfection from start to finish.
The best hip-hop debut since Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor.

    19. Looks like Aftermath got another classic “2001” , “The Marshall Mathers LP”, “Get Rich or Die Tryin”, now “good kid, m.A.A.d city”

    20. Definitely well deserved. I think Kendrick just fucked the industry up with this one. It’s more like a chapter in the autobiography of Compton.

    21. I’m surprised Jayceon hasnt got a Kendrick Lamar portrait tattooed on his chest yet LMAO… you know its coming

    22. “Kendrick’s accomplishments are more impressive than Khaled’s”

Khaled has more albums. Works with every rapper under the sun, and makes more business moves than Kendrick does. I’d say that’s accomplished.

      1. All of the albums flopped. Working with every artist isn’t that impressive if all of the songs sound the same and suck. And there’s nothing impressive about Khaled’s business moves at all.

      2. “and makes more business moves than Kendrick does”

those mcdonalds commercials were hilarious!!! WHEN THAT CREAM HITS YOUR FACE!

yo when the last time you saw Khaled on Forbes?

    23. upto I saw the check for $9548, I did not believe that my brothers friend woz actualy taking home money in their spare time from there labtop.. there great aunt started doing this 4 less than 22 months and at present cleared the dept on there home and got a brand new Lotus Carlton. more information… http://www.Fb39.com

its just the small minds of our ppl. see a little bit of money and nothing else matters. its sickening really. i know white ppl do it to us but its imo its worse when we do it to ourselves.

    24. Wack rap songs:

      Diamond & D-Roc – Bankhead Bounce
      Jibbs – Chain Hang Low

      N.O.R.E. – Superthug
      Timbaland & Magoo – Luv 2 Luv U
      T.I. & Ashanti’s fine ass – Pac’s Life
Kendrick Lamar – Swimming Pools (Drank)

      1. Diamond & D-Roc – Bankhead Bounce (never heard it)
Jibbs – Chain Hang Low (wack)
Warren G – World Wide Ryders (it’s good)
DJ Taz – That’s Right (wack)
        Nappy Roots – Awnaw (decent)
        N.O.R.E. – Superthug (good)
Timbaland & Magoo – Luv 2 Luv U (ehhh, beats cool)
        T.I. & Ashanti’s fine ass – Pac’s Life (decent)
Kendrick Lamar – Swimming Pools (Drank) (great, best song on this list)
        Ice Cube – Sasquatch (decent)

    25. “All of the albums flopped. Working with every artist isn’t that impressive if all of the songs sound the same and suck”

But they don’t all suck. That’s just your inner hate talking.

      1. Kendrick-rapper
Khaled-fmr. label executive/A&R, deejay, owner of imprint label

You compare Kendrick to Ace Hood, they are in the same position. Don’t let the pussy boy talk about hate because he’s the #1 Kendrick hater, he’ll spin anything to make it like Kendrick’s losing.
