G-Unit’s Tony Yayo had all charges against him dropped today in a case that claimed he assaulted Jimmy “Henchman” Rosemond’s 14-year-old son.
The charges, including misdemeanor assault, harassment and endangering the welfare of a child, were all dismissed according to a statement from the rapper’s lawyer, Scott Leemon.
“[He] is no longer facing any criminal charges relating to the incident that occurred last March,” Leemon said.
Despite not facing jail time, Yayo’s plea deal will have him doing 10 days of community service. According to Leemon, the Queens native agreed to a non-criminal harassment charge in order to avoid going through a trial.
While claiming not to have harmed the victim, Yayo admits that he was at the scene of the incident and tried pulling the assaulter, Lowell Fletcher, from the teenager.
Claiming that the infamous Hip Hop Police were behind this delay, Leemon believed his client was innocent from the start.
“As I told you from the beginning, Tony Yayo did not hit anyone and would never do anything to harm a child,” Leemon said. “This fact was confirmed by Mr. Fletcher when he told members of the notorious Hip Hop Police in August that he did this on his own. The Hip Hop Police buried this helpful information, and the charges against Tony Yayo proceeded until today.”
The dismissed charges come from an alleged March 22, 2007 altercation where Rosemond’s son named Tony Yayo as his attacker when an incident occurred in front of Czar Entertainment.
