After the BET Hip Hop Awards, Gunplay spoke on his own feud with G-Unit members, referring to them as “donkeys.” He also said that if anyone “plays” with him, they “might get gunned down.” Now, G-Unit affiliate Mike Knox has gone on the radio to speak on his involvement in the altercation, saying that Gunplay “got treated like a dope fiend.”
Knox first addressed a video that was released, showing him being hit by Gunplay.
“When people are fighting, they usually pepper spray the person that’s being the most aggressive or the biggest person. I was the biggest person. So, he wasn’t pepper sprayed at the time. They pepper sprayed all of us. Everybody tried to run from it. I slipped. Anybody knows if they’ve ever been pepper sprayed before, you can’t see anything, you can’t really talk. You try to get yourself together because you’re caught off guard. I caught a real big batch of it. So, when the video starts, I’m already on the ground and you can see the pepper spray in the air. Then he jumps up and runs over and starts to hit me in the back,” Knox said in his interview with Hot 107. “If that’s what he felt he needed to do to redeem himself and make himself like he did something, that’s cool. But he got treated like a dope fiend.”
Knox went on to explain that Gunplay was beaten in the brawl.
“The only thing I can tell you is he was in the wrong place at the wrong time and he was acting a certain kinda way that he shouldn’t have been actin’ and he got dealt with as if he was gave a package, a bundle, in the hood and he messed it up or he didn’t pay his credit for the dope that he be using. So, he got dealt with,” he noted. “He got his ass kicked.”
Knox went on by saying that Gunplay “was runnin’ from an asswhoopin'” during the Rick Ross/Young Jeezy confrontation but that he “ran into an asswhoopin'” in this brawl.
Knox also added that 50 Cent was not involved in the altercation and that he was there for a more meaningful reason.
“People always try to make it look like [50 Cent] is attached to something negative. That’s not his thing. He wasn’t there for that. They fail to realize that this is a very touchy situation. Chris Lighty was his manager for many years,” he said. “You’ve never seen 50 put no beefs aside. So for him to put all that to the side, to do that for Chris and communicate with [Fat Joe], you should know we wasn’t there for [a fight].”
