You guys have to take into account that both of these guys are private individuals and not major share holders in publicly traded corporations. The reason why people such as Bill Gates, Warren Buffet can have their wealth estimated so easily and with relative accuracy is because their shares in their companies (Microsoft and Berkshire) are of public record. The SEC requires that all shareholders in publicly traded companies be public knowledge for investors to see and for the government to monitor any suspicious activity.
Sean John, Ciroc and Rocawear or any of these guys popular holdings are not publicly traded companies. Therefore you have no clue what these companies actually clear each year and what their true ownership positions really are.
I’m not saying these guys aren’t super wealthy, but you also have to look at these guys expenses. Pretty frivolous lifestyles they lead and god bless them, if they earn it, they can do whatever they want with it. But granted, Forbes is trying to sell magazines and get people to visit their website. So of course they want to appeal to the hip hop world’s senses by writing an article like this.
