Flavor Flav has announced that his Olympic dreams are coming true — he’ll be following the lead of Snoop Dogg, and carrying the torch when the Summer Games move to Los Angeles in 2028.
The Public Enemy member, who shared over the summer that he had applied for a torchbearer position, revealed that his application was accepted during a live chat on Blue Sky.

“When Olympics come to L.A., your boy Flavor Flav is gonna be able to carry the torch,” he said. “It’s a bragging right for Flavor Flav.”

Flavor was all over the 2024 Games, even coming to the aid of an Olympic athlete after they admitted they were struggling to pay their rent.
Veronica Fraley, who competed in the discus throw and attends Vanderbilt University, took to X (formerly Twitter) the day before her competition to share her predicament.

“I compete in the Olympic Games TOMORROW and can’t even pay my rent,” she wrote. “my school only sent about 75% of my rent while they pay football players (who haven’t won anything) enough to buy new cars and houses.”
The hypeman legend became an American hero for this American hero, responding: “I gotchu,,, DM me and I’ll send payment TODAY so you don’t have to worry bout it TOMORROW,,, and imma be rooting for ya tomorrow LETZ GO,!!!”

Shortly after, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian offered to split the cost with Flav.
“THANK YOU & @FlavorFlav SO MUCH,” Fraley replied. “this makes every difference in the WORLD & I hope to represent team USA well this week.”
It appears both men kept their word as the 24-year-old Olympian later wrote: “ITS MEET DAY. Also paid my rent this morning [crying face emoji] [praying hands emoji] [love hearts emoji].”
Flavor was a prominent presence at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, even earning praise from First Lady Jill Biden for his support of the USA men’s and women’s water polo teams.
