Flavor Flav has turned his concern about the Los Angeles wildfires into action, by partnering up and helping to seriously streamline and simplify needed relief efforts.

On Monday (January 20), the Public Enemy mainstay announced that he was partnering with GoFundMe and the Black Music Action Coalition to create one single GoFundMe campaign — which you can find here — to distribute money to Black families in Pasadena and Altadena affected by the Eaton fire. A list of individual GoFundMe campaigns for affected families from which the campaign is drawn can be found here.

In addition to individual families, the campaign may distribute funds to “community-based nonprofits and other community projects,” pending availability.

“It’s been kind of inspiring to me to see people come together right now to lift each others’ spirits,” Flavor said in an Instagram video.

“There’s not enough being done for the Black families and the communities. So I partnered up with GoFundMe and the Black Music Action Coalition to have one GoFundMe campaign to immediately help all of those that’s in need.”

Flavor is far from the only veteran musician to offer help to victims of the Los Angeles wildfires. André 3000 aided as well by contributing a previously-unreleased song to a new compilation album that will benefit artists who have been impacted by the natural disasters.

Released on Monday (January 20) through Leaving Records, the 98-track effort is titled Staying: Leaving Records Aid To Artists Impacted By The Los Angeles Wildfires and is available for purchase on Bandcamp.

In addition to 3 Stacks, other contributors include Reggie Watts, Brijean and more.

In a statement, Leaving Records’ Emmett Shoemaker said, “In the spirit of doing what we can, and doing what we do best, Leaving has pulled out all the proverbial stops to release a benefit compilation consisting of affiliated artists and supporters far and wide (many of whom have indeed lost everything). Seeking to supplement the numerous GoFundMes and the profound, often harrowing acts of mutual aid that are currently buoying recovery efforts, and in lieu of donating to a third party organization, all proceeds will be donated directly to impacted individuals.

“50% will be meticulously, manually allocated to Los Angeles artists and music colleagues in need, as equitably as possible. We will be referencing existing music community aid spreadsheets/documents already circulating, alongside a succinct internal list of those affected in our immediate community. The other 50% of funds will be allocated to displaced Black families and community impacted by the fires, again, as equitably as possible.”
