In honor of the late J Dilla (AKA Jay Dee), Stones Throw is
holding an official “Dilla Month” to celebrate his legacy. The indie
label, which houses some of his most acclaimed and successful material to date
including Donuts, will spearhead a seven-date tour in his
tribute, beginning the 4th in London and ending March 9th in San Diego. Guests
are to include the Beat Junkies, DJ Scratch and Pharoahe Monch. J.
Rocc of the Beat Junkies is mixing a podcast titled “Thank You Jay
Dee, Act 2” that will be available for download at the Stones Throw
website February 5th.
The tribute, which will go on hiatus on Valentines
Day and actually extends well into March, will be capped with the posthumous
release of J Dilla‘s Ruff Draft, a double disc album available
worldwide.
