Fat Joe Celebrates His Special Needs Son On World Autism Awareness Day: ‘My King’

Fat Joe wore blue in honor of World Autism Day on Saturday (April 2). Unbeknownst to some, the Terror Squad captain has a son with autism who he had when he was just 19 years old. Sharing an Instagram post that included a photo of himself hugging his son in a wheelchair, Fat Joe showered his son with praise.

“World Autism Day,” he wrote in the caption. “Joey is my heart, my king, my everything. Our kids are our biggest blessings. Today i wear Autism blue in honor of our kids and all the families around the world dealing with special needs family members. God makes no mistakes I pray everyday for everyone and i hope you keep us in your prayers #letsgoduke.”

Busta Rhymes, MC Serch, DJ Clue, Positive K, Video Music Box host Ralph McDaniels and Juelz Santana were among the many who showed their support in the comment section.

Fat Joe honored his son Joey on Instagram for his birthday last December and explained how terrified he was to learn he was having a child at such a young age.

“Life is full of surprises,” he wrote. “I was just a kid at 19 years old when i had Joey. It was one of the scariest days of my life. Doctors said he wouldn’t be normal and kids like this are hard to deal with. Not once did me and my family think of giving up on Joey. He’s my jr. it’s a lot of work it’s a constant sacrifice that parents make to keep their children happy and most of all safe. I’ve always kept Joey out of the limelight cause they’re bad elements out there i never wanted him exposed to.

“Joey has accomplished above and beyond & i also believe he keeps my parents alive cause they love him sooooooo much. How do you tell someone who’s given you so much joy in life thank you???. How do you tell your best friend and most loyal one thank you??. I am so proud of Joey he’s my heart & soul. I love you Joey, we all love you Joey, thank you for being my Biggest blessing in life! Happy Birthday Joey, God bless you.”

    1. Never knew Joe had a kid with autism, props to Joe for being a great dad, I know how challenging it can be at times looking after someone with autism. This is actually a really nice story and would be nice to see more stories like this that show the normal side of rappers outside the usual bs drama and clout chasing that goes on. May God bless both of you with long and healthy lives.

      1. We’re all guilty of a little trolling sometimes, especially some of the more trashy entertainers but you have to draw the line somewhere. I’m happy to ridicule some of the idiots who comment on here too like the guy who says he hates Chris Rock so much. I’m also happy call out weak men like Will and Kanye who allow themselves to be cucked by their ladies and embarrass themselves …..but I draw the line at peoples kids, race and when people die . That’s the difference between me and you, you always go too far and ruin it for the rest of us.

    2. The derpy f@#ks are the one who punch down on people when they are dealt a bad hand at birth, beyond their control. Yet those dumba$$es can’t control themselves and still show how small they are to the world. What idiots. You have removed all doubt how inept you are a human.
