Fantasia has alleged that the host of an apartment she rented treated her unfairly because of her race, and the singer has now detailed the upsetting experience in a lengthy social media post.

On Saturday (December 16), the Grammy Award winner took to X/Twitter and wrote: “My stomach is so uneasy this morning as I’m riding back to my home in the cold and rain. I don’t say much when people do me wrong, but I can’t stay quiet on how my family and I were just treated from a host with @Airbnb @airbnbhelp trying to kick my kids and I out at 12:00 midnight.

“The host accused us of having a party with loud noises outdoors because they saw balloons being dropped off and a game truck with no generator in the early part of the day. The amount of guests we reserved for are the amount of guest who stayed the night. They never said we weren’t allowed to have any company over!!”

After pointing out that the Airbnb building’s amenities suggest that it often accommodates parties, she added: “It’s evident to me this was racial profiling and the treatment we received was due to the color of our skin. I wanted my son to enjoy his friends (10-12) year old and make him feel special as I have been traveling for the last 35+ days promoting a movie I starred in. This time, I dare not stay quiet.”

Fantasia isn’t the only one to butt heads with landlords leasing out their properties as Tyrese was sued by the owner of a rental home just last month for allegedly making “excessive alterations” to the unit without permission.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast in mid-November, Tiffanique Webb has alleged that the singer’s work on her premises resulted in damages that exceeded his security deposit.

Additionally, Webb has claimed that his adjustments made her property un-rentable; so she’s also holding him responsible for loss of earnings.

Per the State Department of Consumer Affairs, any repairs in the state of California that are done in excess of $500 require the landlord’s approval.

Additionally, the proposed renovations must be presented in writing and signed off by both parties using language that is “legible, easy to understand, and inform the consumer of his/her rights to cancel or rescind the contract”” which Tyrese allegedly did not do.

As a result, Webb is seeking damages in excess of $25,000.
