Everlast Preps New Album “Songs Of The Ungrateful Living” For October 18th

Erik “Everlast” Schrody has announced the release of his first album in three years, Songs of the Ungrateful Living, due October 18th via his own imprint Martyr Inc. Records.

The first release on his label, Songs will impact retail in partnership with EMI Music. Described as being “awash in the beats and blues” that earned him a Grammy, the LP is led by the single “I Get By,” which releases to Modern Rock radio on September 12th.

“The music industry has changed tremendously over the years,” says the former House of Pain member in a statement. “This album is particularly important to me to help express the current chaotic human condition we’re all dealing with. With this in mind I made the decision to take control of the situation and start my own label. Songs of the Ungrateful Living is the first album on Martyr Inc. Records in partnership with EMI. Musically and lyrically, this album reflects the diverse musical explorations and personal ebb and flow that I have experienced in recent years.”

      1. As far as white-boy rap goes, House of Pain can be proud of doin’ something Em is yet to achieve, receiving hood love. The first two LPs HoP released were just as credible as Bootcamp, D.I.T.C. or Alkaholik’s records and obviously Jump Around’s one of the greatest hip-hop singles ever. Em showed potential in the early part of his career when he was collaborating with Thirsten Howll III, Spinna, High & Mighty and the early Bad Meets Evil joints, but his new ish has been abysmal. I can’t take any emcee seriously when the majority of his fan-base is made up of white girls and homosexuals.
