Eminem appears to have upset Proof‘s son NASAAN as they now have clashing release dates.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the young rapper playfully warned his late father’s close friend: “@Eminem dropping the same day as me? i wouldn’t do that if i was you, UNLESSSS you wanna get out sold OG.”

He then urged fans to pre-save his upcoming project Error 404 which will drop on May 31, the same date Eminem has teased a new release, which is likely to be the first single from his upcoming album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).

NASAAN’s debut project, Error 404 is set to feature contributions from fellow Eminem associate Royce Da 5’9″, as well as Detroit natives Icewear Vezzo and BabyTron.

NASAAN recently released the first single from the project, “Goated” featuring Royce.

In the song’s accompanying video, NASAAN paid tribute to his late father by recreating a famous freestyle featuring Proof and Eminem from 1999 during an interview with MTV.

The D12 heir previously spoke about his relationship with Eminem, crediting the rap icon with supporting his music ambitions.

“So crazy cuz I feel old af (22) and get mad I’m not a megastar but then I’ll talk to Em and he’ll be like, ‘Man, I wish I was where you were when I was your age or that advance[d] musically. Shit makes me feel a lottttttttt better,” he tweeted back in 2021.

Em himself opened up about the devastating impact that Proof’s 2006 murder had on him in a vulnerable op-ed for XXL in 2022.

“[T]he thing happened with Proof and my addiction went through the fuckin’ roof,” he wrote. “I remember just after Proof died, I was in my house by myself, and I was just laying in bed and I couldn’t move and I just kept staring at the ceiling fan. And I just kept taking more pills. I literally couldn’t walk for two days when that happened and eventually my drug use fuckin’ skyrocketed.

“I had fuckin’ 10 drug dealers at one time that I’m getting my shit from. 75 to 80 Valiums a night, which is a lot. I don’t know how the fuck I’m still here. I was numbing myself. I remember a few months after Proof had passed, I was about to use the bathroom, and all I remember was I just fell over.”

“The next thing I remember was waking up with fucking tubes in me and shit, and I couldn’t talk. I couldn’t do anything. I didn’t understand where I was and what the fuck happened,” he added.

A few months after Proof died, Eminem wound up in the hospital following a drug binge that almost killed him.

“I was about to use the bathroom, and all I remember was I just fell over,” he recalled. “The next thing I remember was waking up with fucking tubes in me and shit, and I couldn’t talk. I couldn’t do anything. I didn’t understand where I was and what the fuck happened.”
