Eminem & Dr. Dre Sign Las Vegas Rapper Ez Mil To Shady, Aftermath & Interscope

Eminem and Dr. Dre have inked a joint deal with up-and-coming Las Vegas rapper Ez Mil, signing the 24-year-old to Interscope, Aftermath and Shady Records.

On Wednesday (July 26), Em took to Instagram to announce the signing of EZ. “Me and Dre back at it,” he wrote. “Check @ezekielmiller aka Ez Mil out- link in bio.”

He then moved to Twitter to confirm that the rapper’s “Up Down (Step & Walk)” music video, which he dropped earlier this year, was the reason for the signing. “This is why we signed him,” Eminem tweeted alongside a link to the video.

Check out Slim’s post’s about Ez Mil below:

Ez Mil will drop DU4LI7Y: REDUX, a deluxe version of his 2022 album on August 11. The new revamp will include the song “Realest” with Eminem.

In February, Ez Mil released the video for his DU4LI7Y single “Up Down,” which gained traction after fans noted stylistic similarities to Eminem. About a month later, the latter heard the song, and Ez Mil drove from Vegas to Los Angeles to link up with Dre and Em for the first time.

“We’ve never been out there signing a lot of artists, and one of the great things about how we built Shady is how selective we’ve been,” Eminem said in a statement (via Shady Records). “And it’s even rarer that Dre and I sign something together – but I heard Ez’s music and was like, ‘This is really special’. So I took it to Dre. We both agreed it would be a great fit and we wanted to work with him right on the spot.”

Dre added: “I’m really only interested in working on shit that sounds different from anything else going on out there, and only then if I feel I can really bring something to it. Em played me Ez and I had that feeling…that thing that happens when we both know we’ve found something special. And that was it….let’s get to work.”

Em and Dre have made a career of discovering superstar talent. One such talent includes 50 Cent, who in February celebrated his 23-year partnership with the famed duo following his signing to Aftermath, Interscope, and Shady Records back in 2002 which kickstarted his career.

“When you have a team like this it’s hard to lose, I’m so blessed to have worked with the best ever,” 50 wrote on Instagram at the time. “You can re-write a book, you can re-write a song but you can’t re-write history. The 3 headed monster EM, DRE and 50cent. Boom.”

The G-Unit mogul was also celebrating the 20th anniversary of his juggernaut debut Get Rich or Die Tryin’, which had Eminem and Dr. Dre’s fingerprints all over it.

Not only was it released through Shady Records and Aftermath — in conjunction with Interscope and 50’s own G-Unit Records — but Dre produced several tracks including “In Da Club,” “If I Can’t” and “Back Down,” while Em appears on “Patiently Waiting” and “Don’t Push Me.”

    1. Shady Records the rap career graveyard. Does Eminem go around signing these people just to kill any competition. He signs them and makes them sit on the bench until he drops them from the label. Killing their careers as rappers. There’s like two dozen rappers he signed and did them dirty like that.

      1. You’re just a racist because Em is white. Why don’t you say anything about Puffy? At least he aint killing his artists like Puffy done Big. Eminem put more black people on than you here in the comments will ever do. Em put on 50 Cent, D12, Obie Trice, it was a time in early 2000s where all you heard was Eminem and his artists.

    2. His career is going to die at those washed up labels. Ovo, cactus jack, and even roc nation would be much better homes

      1. Obviously you’re bias because Drake’s 🥜 call your chin it’s home. Ignore this H😘M😚

    3. Signed to three different entities. With the cut they bout to take, buddy basically rapping for minimum wage.. ….Should’ve stayed independent

    4. people hate but forget or ignore the fact that every major label has, and has had, an abundance and litany or artists with ‘talent’ that ‘never made it’. Truth is, no matter how huge the label or the star that puts you on, there’s a myriad of obstacles and events that can happen that can hinder your career progression. Not all of these things are in the hands of the label or can be blamed on the honcho’s like Em, Dre, Jay-Z etc….that’s just life

      1. Getting signed to a major label doesn’t guarantee success, just like winning a Grammy doesn’t. (The later there are tons of other categories ppl don’t even know about)

Ppl gotta wanna go to the shows or else the money is just nonsensical.

    5. He’s kinda trash though, nothing about him stands out especially the music. Not too sure what their plan is for dude but it’s already dead on arrival
